Oh the shame! Show us your unplayed pile with a photo.

So after the discussion in this thread about unplayed games piling up I thought I'd snap a photo and encourage others to do the same as an incentive to stop the madness!

Since I didn't really make a New Year's resolution this year, looking at the photo kinda makes me want to have one. New Year's Resolution 2009: Get through more than half of my un-played pile this year. There are 27 games in the photo so at least 14 for me. Second half of that goal is to buy less this year.

Who's with me?

You're a liar! You have played at least one of those games!

Re: Oh the shame! Show us your unplayed pile with a photo.

I would take a picture to show everyone, but I do not have a camera with a wide enough lens to show the whole pile!

Seriously....it dates a few generations back....at least to the N64, if not even before with the SNES...

Re: Oh the shame! Show us your unplayed pile with a photo.

I am definintely buying less...as I go from one non collection game to another without pileup.

But judging off your picture, you could immediately take some of those games out of the rotation as not worth your time, money, and energy.

I can't believe you missed the TM:Black window. That was one of the best PS2 games.

Are those seriously games you haven't played at all? Wow. I have a ton to "finish", but everything I have I've at least played. Thank you for making me feel better about myself.

I've played some Zombie matches in COD:WaW but that's it. I'm working through SW: The Force Unleashed right now. Other than that I'm not sure what you're getting at. Oh, I did do the first level of Condemned 2 when it came out. All the others haven't made it close to the disc drive. Not enough to consider "played."

I never had a PS1 or PS2. I picked all those up on the cheap when I got my PS3.

Re: Oh the shame! Show us your unplayed pile with a photo.

If I posted a picture of games I haven't finished, it'd about about 75% of all the games I've ever bought - I don't think the forum could handle a picture that big...

But if it's games I've bought but haven't played at all, well, those don't exist - I immediately try out every game I buy.

Oh... I took unplayed to mean unplayed... you know, not played at all...

and I know I saw you playing Force Unleashed several times

Well I actually took the photo last week intending to make the thread prior to starting TFU.

I tend to finish 99% of what I play so that's how the pile accumulates.

Re: Oh the shame! Show us your unplayed pile with a photo.

I beat COD:WaW in about 6-7 hours on normal. It's pretty easy. You should be able to get than one done quick.

TM:B is online only. Are there people still playing that game? It's a good game but you might have a hard time finding other players online.

Damn. No wonder why I got it so cheap. Oh well. There's no single player at all? Odd.

Re: Oh the shame! Show us your unplayed pile with a photo.

Twisted Metal Black is probably my worst offender

I bought that fucker on release day and never even opened it. It's still sitting there, unopened for about 7 years now.

That's my oldest unopened game (followed closely by RE:0 for gamecube and GTA:VC for PS2 - both bought shortly after release and never opened)

You guys are crazy. I do this with Blu-ray's (I have 5-6 sealed) but I have watched every one before I bought them. If I buy a game, it gets opened. If I had planned on leaving it on a shelf, it'd be the shelf at the store I bought it at.

Re: Oh the shame! Show us your unplayed pile with a photo.

My unplayed picture would be way too big. I've picked up a ton of games for cheap that I just haven't gotten to yet.

There is single player...they did release an online only version of TM:B that you could get for free if you purchased the online network adapter for the PS2.

But anyways..TM:B is a solid title and a lot of fun.

Why would you buy it and then leave it on the store's shelf?

Isn't there a point you reach, at least when you have a serious stack of unplayed games, when you just know you aren't going to get to them ever? I mean, is it likely you'll ever get to those N64 games?

I only have two unplayed games that I plan on getting to, those being Rise of Nations and Battle for Middle Earth 2. The only reason I haven't yet is because I find you have to really dedicate yourself to learning an RTS to really have fun. I just haven't had the afternoon where I felt like really getting into these games yet. But I definitely will. I've had other games, but I knew good and damn well they would not get played so I sold them.

The only reason why i keep buying games that go unplayed is simple: I know I'm going to play them and If i see it on sale I'll get it so to avoid the crazy mark ups some of these games get when they go oop. Especially rpgs. Plus if we have a nuclear apocalypse I'll have plenty to play in the bunker

Nice. I see we have Blast Works and Sphinx in common. If we could get a few people with similar games we could pick one to work through at the same time.

Re: Oh the shame! Show us your unplayed pile with a photo.

I vowed I wasn't going to do this anymore after I ended up with over 100 XBox games, most unplayed and unopened. Damn that 2004 $5 Circuit City clearance. Now most of those are worth about a buck and half. Now I buy it, I play it, I sell it, I only hold on to a game for game night and if I get them as gifts and I really want to keep it.
