Well after hearing all the scuttlebutt about it, and realizing that it also plays MP3's, I decided to drop into my local Circuit City to grab one - only to find out that the last batch had been bought out by one lady that afternoon (she bought 5? *shakes his head*). I also see that on their online store, they have none in stock.
So my question is - is there somewhere else online that I've missed that I could order one, and not catch the next wave that may/may not have the menu system available?

You can find one at www.laserexchange.com -- its a legit import & other dvd/laserdisc store [been there to check it out] with an on-line front. $249 on-line.
For anyone in local Mass area, there cheaper if you walk in and buy it (sorry Twykr)

Well, just in case you didn't check there...

This is the 'un-official fan site' of the apex that was mentioned on slashdot.org and wired.com just a few days ago...the link is to their message forum on 'where to buy an apex?'
Good luck

I may not be in the right forum but I have heard all the fuss over the APEX AD600A and have a few questions.
Is there someplace on the web that explains how to use the backdoor interface to copy DVDs to VHS and play out of region DVDs? Can anyone use these features.
I don't want to pirate or take advantage but I wouldn't mind creating a favorite scene video and watching DVDs that aren't available in the U.S.
Any additional information would be helpful.
