Confessions of a Shopaholic
Anyone else excited for Confessions of a Shopaholic, starring Isla Fisher? I keep seeing television spots for the movie, so I searched for the full trailer. Here it is for anyone who wants to watch it. Isla is just too cute and fits the role of Becky Bloomwood perfectly. I love her colorful outfits and bet there is so much more to come when the movie comes out.

No but seriously, this movie is obviously "for the gals", and not really marketed towards those packing peen. Still, by the previews alone this looks less like a "Sex and the City" and more like "The Women". But what the hell do I know? The answer is, surprisingly, rather surprising.

Isla Fisher appears to have some inspired comedic moments in this, but I can't get behind this film either. I am also baffled as to the movies I've seen this trailer attached to (most commonly Zack and Miri Make a Porno...?).

Yeah as an admitted fan of Sex and the City I can honestly say that this one looks like torture. The trailer was jaw-droppingly awful and hurt my brain a little bit even.

What the hell is Jerry Bruckheimer doing producing this movie? Why doesn't he get involved with an R-rated action movie he forgot how to make.

Ek -- Tough crowd. I am still looking forward to the movie. I loved Isla Fisher in Wedding Crashers and I remember thinking throughout that movie that I wish she had a larger role in the film. I think it will be nice to see her starring in this one. She certainly owns the character of Becky Bloomwood.

Can someone tell me (because the trailer is maybe misleading): does Isla Fisher's character not know how credit cards work? Because the whole film is a fucking wash if that's the case.

This is just a simple comedy and I think people are thinking way too much in to it. In the books Becky is a recent graduate out of college. That puts her at around 21-22 years old. That is pretty young.

Either Isla Fisher or Amy Adams needs to change their hair color. I, for the life of me, can't tell which is which.

Re: Confessions of a Shopaholic
I liked Amy Adams in Enchanted, but I haven't seen her in any other films. I really loved Isla in Wedding Crashers and based on the trailers I have seen, she is definitely bringing her comedic personality to this film too. This behind-the-scenes interview with her is really awesome. I loved how she mentioned "I like physical comedy...it's great, you get to tap into your inner idiot." All the clips and images I have seen for the movie have been great, but I am just ready to see it now! Next week, can't wait!

Isn't this based on the book from the "Save Karen" girl? If so, congrats to her on turning a shopping habit into a way to make money.

It's not, I looked it up after I saw this post. The Save Karyn girl wrote Save Karyn: One Shopaholic's Journey to Debt and Back (and some other books too). Sophie Kinsella wrote Confessions of a Shopaholic.
