Guess what my Dog ate? Please help

Well to make a long story short the dog ate my Pioneer elite vsx-24tx remote control. Im less than happy. Anyway a glass of Makers and I have cooled down a little. 
My Question is this can I buy a philips pronto and program it to work the pioneer with out the pioneer remote(I would hate programing it with the dog)Thanx for an help

Check with Pioneer first to see if they still have a similar remote available. Once I was able to order a remote from Denon for a receiver that was 3 years old, reasonable price too.
