I tried using it and it gave me a message stating that the coupon wasn't valid for my choice of hotel. I'll poke around and give it another try. I thank you both for your help. :)

Excalibur Hotel Casino I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here but clearly this is way too complex for me. Will pass it along to the husband and make him do it.
Thanks again, guys. I do appreciate the help.

Off topic and not nearly as cheap, but just booked my first trip to Vegas.
Used Orbitz, airfare from DC and 5 nights in the MGM Grand was $533 per person.
Found a $75 Orbitz coupon thru googling during checkout as well.

you don't need to log in. i don't know what you are doing wrong, but this couldn't be more simple. where is says "apply coupon" below you put in the info and click the link below that says "apply and reprice". i added the dates you wanted and came out with a rate of $224.36. maybe try all caps for the coupon?

I'd bet that's the issue. I'd do some checking around (specifically www.swavacations.com). Price everything separately, then check the bundle deals. Almost 80% of the time, SWA Vacations will beat their prices.

Kitty...don't stay at Excalibur. I stayed there once and I'd assume not go to Vegas if I had to stay there again.
There are great deals all up and down the strip right now. And I've stayed at Orleans off the strip and recommend that over Excalibur.
Luxor next to Excalibur usually has some good deals.

The Excalibur is really nice? I don't know what hotel you went to, but I had an awesome time there. And, as far as I'm concerned, best buffet on the strip.

the excalibur would be the best if 95% of the casinos on the strip folded

They have a nice steak restaurant, top notch and reasonable price. We ate Thanksgiving dinner their once. I recommend the restaurant. But I hated, I mean hated the hotel. And for reference, I've probably been to Vegas 15-20 times.
I found it very dated, dirty, staff unresponsive, not caring and in some cases rude. In addition, while many of the hotels try to get you to sit thru their time share deals, Excalibur was amazing. We would often get hit on by them three time between walking in and getting on elevator.
Seriously, I won't go to Vegas if only option is to stay there. I have never seen such a good deal there that I couldn't find very, very close somewhere else. Like I say, I'd go back to Orleans and it is not on the strip.

I'm staying at one place when I go with my girlfriend, it's a nice place but cheap. We're going to party, not to gamble or eat so it really doesn't matter where we stay. However when I go with my husband for our 15th year wedding anniversary, I'd like to stay somewhere meaningful to us and that would be the Excalibur (don't ask). When I go with him it will be more site seeing and shows but we're happy to walk around or take a cab if we're not happy with what is at our hotel.

I stayed in one of the newer rooms at the Excalibur in Tower II (it was like $20 more a night). They had HDTV's and stuff.
I stayed in one of the older rooms, which sucked, the first night but got upgraded after that. Had a nice view, too. No complaints from me.
In addition to the FAN50 code ($50 off, book by , Expedia has "expedia extra" which is a $50 debit card you get after trip is over:
HURRY LIMITED TIME OFFER! Book a 4-night stay at this hotel and get a $50 Prepaid MasterCard® debit card from Expedia®. Book by March 1, 2009 and travel by March 30, 2009. Allow 3 to 6 weeks after travel completion for your card to arrive.
which, if my math is correct, is a net $100 discount*.
*interestingly, the FAN50 code reduces the room rate, which reduces taxes and fees as well!
** note that cancellation (and change) fees apply to these bookings. Better be the one you really want.
***Not to mention:
Expedia Special Rate hotels require that your credit card be charged for the full payment upon reservation. Please carefully read the rules and restrictions for your selected hotel.
