Thanks for the tip. I ordered one from musicians friend. Note - musicians friend charged no tax to PA, guitar center did.

Yeah I don't need to spend the money but that's too good of a deal to pass up. Thanks!!

Received an email this morning that they are out of stock but expect more form the manufacturer. Hope this one doesn't cancel. They did accept the paypal payment.

I ordered a pair also (from Musician's Friend), but don't have high hopes. The white version has been discontinued by Sony, so I can't imagine that they will get re-stocked on them. But ya never know....

Mine arrived today! Have to say that they sound pretty damn good, and I'm pretty picky about sound quality! (I'm an audio engineer by trade...)

I got mine yesterday as well. These are very good phones--the bass is a bit lacking (it's there though), but the mids and highs are superb. A very good all-around IEM, and well worth the $80.

Mine came in. They sound GREAT. For anyone who's having bass issues, give the various tips a try. Make sure you seat the earphone DEEP in your ear, like earplugs. (Not so deep that the tip gets stuck, though. ;)) The general consensus seems to be the shiny, black tips give the best sound and comfort. I think a lot of people like the yellow foamies, too, but they are kind of annoying to use...

I had problems with the gray/black silicone tips coming off in my ear, requiring a friend and a pair of tweezers to get them out. Maybe Shure has redesigned these so that doesn't happened, but I now use the clear soft plastic tips, which have never given me a problem.

two things:
1) Make sure you push the tips PAST the ridge on the nozzle. That's what holds the tips on
2) Don't put the entire tip into your ear canal
(Both of these are directly from Shure ;))

for all those complaining about bass, also give them a chance to break in. i know the drivers are small but i would bet they open up a bit after a bunch of use.

This is true. However, with a proper fit and seal, the bass is decent even when new.

Used my SCL4's on last week on cross-country flight - sounded very impressive. I think I'll start using these instead of my Bose noise-canceling, I like how much smaller they are.

The SCL4's seem to be sold out, but the above links for the SCL3's still work. Don't know how they 3's compare to the 4's though.

I finally opened the pair I got back when....

I am very happy with them. The rubber things that were on there fit nicely. I used a couple tracks as a reference for comparing them to the skullcandy ink'd ones I'd gotten for 10 bones a while back and have been happy with. Anyway, I notice considerable clarity. Everything instrument feels more pronounced. Great shit. I'm listening to Arcturus' "The Sham Mirrors" by the way.
