Also: The Stupids!!!

A friend and I watched this a couple of years back because I somehow missed an "important" part of childhood. There was actually one moment where I laughed to the point that my head almost exploded. But it wasn't genuine.

Also, Quick Change!

So does this mean a BD set maybe. I already preordered the original Friday Uncut BD. I'd hate to buy that and then a set show up a month later.

Probably. That's why I'm holding off on the BD for now, in the hopes that a box set will be released down the road.

I see they have another special premiere in January as well (Yonkers Joe (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1018830/)). Robocop Unrated too.

Shame Paramount is not releasing Part II on Blu-ray...that would mean almost the entire F13 saga would be available in HD in the next month (1 on BD, 3-8 on HDMNV, Jason vs Freddy on BD in Canada)

I wouldn't plan on it. All 6 Star Wars movies have been playing in HD for over a year and I don't see that coming out anytime soon.

Very unlikely. Paramount is releasing Parts 1-3 on DVD the same day as Part 1on Blu-ray...why they didn't just bring 2 and 3 to BD at the same time is beyond me. Maybe holding them for October? As it stands, I beleive Parts 9, 10 and Freddy vs Jason belong to different studios as well so a "complete" set is unlikely.

Simple answer: It's Paramount. I don't expect nice things to come from them especially when they tried to kill the series off.

About the upcoming release, does anyone else find it odd that it's rated R yet they still say it's uncut?

It might include both cuts (R and Uncut). It will be two weeks at the absolute earliest before reviewers get copies.

I've only watched Part 3 so far... Is it me or did it look like crap? Some scenes looked better than DVD, but not many.

Also, is all that crap on the lense of the camera or on the telecine when they transferred the film to digital?

I think because of the cameras used Pt3 will always looked grainy/washed out.

I didn't have enough space on my DVR to record Part 3, but the ending I saw looked not that great, it almost looked double edged around certain objects, that effect when you see a 3D movie without the glasses.

as for Part 4 the whole image was tinged with a brown haze- which might have been intentional on the director of photographer's part - in hidef though it looked muddy.

Part 5 though, was by the most improved, dark darks, bright vivid colours really made the hidef image pop. Too bad the film in of itself was just eviscerated for it's R-rated cut. I'd love to see those missing 'censored' scenes.

I caught bits and pieces of Parts 6,7, & 8 last night. Out of those three, Part 6 looked the best and it sounded great too. I can't remember if the DVD sounded as good, but I doubt it.

I DVR'd them all so when I get a chance, I'll watch 4-8 in the in their entirety.

I also watched "The Howling". While it looked decent, it didn't seem a whole lot better than my upconverted DVD.

Yes, we do. I don't know for a fact that we offer it in your area, but I can tell you we've got it here in CA. I don;t know why the OK system wouldn't have stations we do. Odd.

I know. I sent an email/letter through HDNet to Cox requesting that they add HDNet to their channel lineup. They need to add it!

Did anybody catch Nightmare On Elm Steet 3? How did it look?

I set the DVR to record it but there was some glitch and it won't let me play it back... like there's no data in the file.

I've had something similar happen to mine before. I just rebooted the box and it played fine. You might want to give that a shot.

Thanks for the info though... I'll try that next time i have a similar problem.

Luckily, N3 is re-airing next month.

Awsome. I was worried it wouldn't play in my PS3. I'm down for an order. How much will it be in american dollars after shipping?

Thanks for the heads up, Gizmo! What's weird is that I've been looking for horror movies to record and have been searching the guide by Horror category and I don't remember seeing any of these show up. But sure enough, there they are. I blanked on all these last time they aired, so I'm happy to get the chance to record them now.

No problem. Keep in mind 'His Name is Jason' is also airing on the 14th in HD on I think StarzHD.
