I'm not sure what to make of this. It says it will be based on the films and the games, and the films deviated greatly from the games. Can't they just base it on the games please!?

Agreed. Forget the movies, go after the games.

Yes, the games! I cringe whenever the films come on.

You know, it's just not entertaining to watch a machine go through zombies like mila does. There's really no "risk" involved in the films as you know super human machine her will just plow through them.

I would love if they did a CGI movie adaptation for each game. I know that the first live action movie was loosely based on the original game, and that Apocalypse was about 25% faithful to RE3:Nemesis, but neither really gave that sense of the menace of Umbrella, or of the creepiness of Raccoon City. I would have a movie series that offered that slow reveal of Umbrella's nefarious deeds.

It's Resident Evil.... you cannot have zombies and lickers in a PG-13 movie.

Trailer is set to debut at Comic Con this weekend:

There's a new RESIDENT EVIL movie coming out, but it's not part of the Milla Jovovich live-action series; rather, it's all-CG, being made in Japan, and existing fully within the continuity of the video games. With zombies and flesh-eating mutants, this ain't Pixar, folks. Check out the brand-new trailer in Room 2 at 1 p.m.
Hopefully be posted shortly there after.

I've never been a major fan of the live action series, maybe this CG version will give me the loads of blood, and good story, I've been waiting on.

Me, too. They should make it look like the video game but more fluid or go to the guys that made Vexille and make it look like that.

Probably not the same trailer that's debuting at Comic Con this week. The old trailer is here:

They should have just done this in the first place, though a live-action series could have been good. But they weren't.

I keep seeing bits where they say it has bits of "what happened all the game characters" in the movie.. makes it sound like an Advent Children type thing.

Also plummets my anticipation.

So i ended up watching the film last night. If your a fan of the games you will love this movie! My dad on the other hand thought it was okay and only had seen the movies. It definitely stays close to the games this time. It does have a lot of references to the games such as :

Spoiler:
Leon is working for Washington in the movie already so i think it takes place a few years after resident evil 2 and before Code Veronica

For a direct to video release the cgi is pretty good but nothing compared to advent children. My biggest gripe was the violence was very tame for a resident evil movie.

I hope this movie becomes successful cause i would love to see another cgi r.e instead of the crappy live action ones.

Are you an RE fan? Does it fit in with any of the RE or is it a separate thing all together

The first 3 movies have all sucked big time. I don't see why a CG would be an improvement.

It takes off after the 1st video game. It has nothing to do with the movies. I thought it was okay. It was kind of slow in the middle. The CG wasn't as good as the Appleseed movies or Vexhille.

The best thing about it was that they did follow the game storyline and use the game characters (even the same voice actors) however I didn't think it was any better than the 3 crappy live action movies.
