Premise of 'Kings'
In this modern variation on the David-and-Goliath story, David Shepherd, a brave warrior in a city under siege, wins the gratitude of his king by rescuing the prince from enemy territory. His ensuing fame and rise through the ranks earns him the affection of the king's daughter, but David begins to realize it's getting harder and harder to tell his allies from his enemies.

Re: Kings 3-19-09

I keep seeing commercials for this at the movies. I like Ian McShane, but this isn't my type of show.

I don't know if I can take McShane on tv and him not calling someone a cocksucker.

Re: Kings 3-19-09

Actually, the one show I'm really, really looking forward to.

OT - MrX, what is the deal with all the avatars looking like communist propaganda posters? Where are they coming from?

2 hour premiere tonight 3/15/09, which will condense Celebrity Apprentice to only 1 hour.

I liked the commercial when we saw it in the theater. Always interested in Bible-based stories in contemporary settings. Usually a hit and miss situation.

Actually it's not modeled after a communist propaganda poster, it's the Obama "HOPE" poster. Er... never mind, same thing

Is this an ongoing series, or a limited series?

Re: Kings 3-19-09

i saw the preview on ITunes. Looks OK, but nothing special. Everything will depend on the acting and the quality of the script

Re: Kings 3-19-09

Really liked it, mostly for Dylan Baker's character and the CrossGen plot. I'm especially excited that
Spoiler:
Macaulay Culkin
will be playing Cross's son and that
Spoiler:
Brian Cox
will be playing his father, so that whole family's dynamic should be fantastic. Wasn't super psyched on the king's affair/the romance subplot, but I think it'll be interesting.

Re: Kings 3-19-09

Did anyone else have to watch this in fullscreen? They had it zoomed in and I couldn't even read the text at the beginning. It said Kingdom of Gilb. The second line started with auguration. The war scene started with 2 years lat. To make things worse after the commercial break it came back in widescreen for about 2-3 minutes and then changed back to fullscreen.

From my belief, it's an ongoing series. Hopefully it will last too, but you know how the networks are trigger happy about canceling shows.

I was waiting for him to start his speach with that, but it is NBC, so I said it for him.
