1080p TV, PS2 and questions

This is my first post over here. I got a question. Im probably gonna get a 1080p tv for Christmas. I watch my DVDs on my PS2. I got a question. How do the DVDs on the PS2 look on the 1080p tv screen? If it looks bad, is there a way to fix it? I want to know, since I dont have money for a Blu Ray player, so that cant be an option for now. So, will it look good and if it does not what do you reccomend? Thanks for any answer.

The PS2 isnt an upscaler.

With that said...

Your TV will upscale for you but it all depends on the TV as to how it will look. Some TVs do a better job than others with upscaling content.

I would recommend a scaler to do the resolution scaling process. But if you say you can't afford another player (currently start at ~$130), I'm not sure you've got $600 for a scaler.

He said he can't afford a Blu-ray player, but he could spend a whole lot less money on a good upconverting DVD player. Yes, my recommendation would be an Oppo, which would be nearing the price of a Blu-ray player, but a lot of people here seem to like a ~$60 upconverting player. I don't remember what one it is, though. Maybe Phillips?
