it isn't on youtube anymore. where did it go? I went thru the link provided, and it didnt work, then I went directly to youtube itself, and its gone. Where else can I hear the song? I really liked her last album, and was hoping she'd stop here, but the whole visa issue....

Eh. Smile is on my Favorites list but this one did nothing for me. I'll listen through once when the album comes out, though.

I'm definitely digging that song! I can't wait for the album.

Here's the cover, by the way:

Great song, I can't wait for the album. The only thing though is there will probably be a "special" edition 8 months later. Looks like it will be release in the UK first? If so, I have to order it through Amazon UK...

I really like this song. And I'm now going through all of her other music videos on YouTube, and I am liking what I hear. I've never heard her music before, so thanks OP for posting this. I'm going to the coinstar later to cash in for some iTunes credit so I can get her other album - BTW "The Fear" is available from PepsiStuff if you have points left.

-Edit: I am really digging this girl. I love that she sings with an accent, and I think the songs are just fun, and funny, and have catchy tunes, etc... I haven't "Geniused" a track of hers yet, but are there other artists (British or otherwise) that are similar to her that I may not have heard of yet?

Really liking this song a lot. She also has an acoustic cover of "Womanizer" floating around that's not too bad.

Lily's first album is absolutely fantastic! Not a bad song. And most sound like they could be singles. All this time later, I still play the album at least once a week. Great stuff.

This is my first introduction to her, too. I LOVE her sound as well as this poignant reflection of society. Dang though, about every one of her songs has EXPLICIT listed next to it on Amazon. Not something you can listen to if you have little ones around lol.

well not all of her songs have dirty words, only a few do. Amazon does that based on the album

If ya go thru Itunes, they've clean ones. I let my kids download the "not explicit" ones.

I love this new single thats out, and can't wait to get the album. Think the British version will have different cuts that the American version wont?

I bought her first album, but didn't know there'd be a difference between British vs. American releases...

really? i know the american version had a remix of 'smile' but i thought that was it. Unless the song that had the C word was uncensored in the uk version, as its edited out on the american cd.

The difference being the US release got her take on 50 Cent's Window Shopper called Nan, You're A Window Shopper, nothing else. Check out her song GWB (Fuck You Very Much). I'm sure you can guess who's she talking about. The album version will just be called Fuck You by the way.

The US version also has Mark Ronson's remix of Smile, which I find superior to the original album cut. And if you buy from iTunes, there's a cover of The Specials' Blank Expression. (The iTunes version is DRM free.)

And speaking of Ronson, she has a great track on his album Version, a cover of the Kaiser Chief's Oh My God.

Is this song meant to be a social commentary? I dig it a lot but I don't really know much about Lily Allen.

Satire. She's very sarcastic.

Re: New Lily Allen

I just finished listening to the album. I think I like it better than her first one. It seemed more polished, less experimental, better focused.

Overall,

Re: New Lily Allen

Well banging aside I finally listened to it today. It almost lost me but picks up nicely near the end. So it's a push maybe, slightly not as good as her first. But it will stay on my zune.

Re: New Lily Allen

"LDN" and "Alfie" were irresistible singles and her debut was among my top 3 of '07, but I'm not really feeling this song. Maybe it'll grow on me.

That said, I'll still be picking this up next week.

As for bonus tracks, here's what's listed on Wikipedia:

Japan edition
13. "Kabul Shit" 3:45
14. "*** Hag" 2:57
15. "The Fear" (enhanced music video)

US & iTunes edition
13. "The Fear (acoustic)" (US bonus track) 3:26
14. "He Wasn't There (acoustic)" (US pre-order only bonus track) 2:50
15. "Who'd Have Known (acoustic)" (US pre-order only bonus track) 3:49

An anti-Bush song...in 2009. How edgy!
