Has anyone heard anything about a Needful Things Extended version?

Anyone hear about this?

I read it was on tv many years ago....searched a bit and only a dvd was released of the theatrical..but no info on a blu-ray of theatrical or extended.

Any word?

This is an MGM title, and MGM has been extremely stingy with their Blu-ray releases. I doubt this one is at the top of their to-release-soon list.

In addition, don't assume that just because there is a longer version shown on television that it will be released on disc. It's not uncommon for movies on TV to get scenes added in to pad out the runtime. The longer cuts are not necessarily approved by the directors, and often they remain unavailable. Halloween, and recently, Waterworld, are two exceptions where the TV versions are available on DVD.

IIRC, Needful Things was substantially longer though, not your typical add a few minutes to pad it out deal.
