I have like 3 of the individual sets. Have heard the problems with the box, however, I've never seen the set at this price. VERY tempting.

I'm spoiled now from the $70 Buffy set and $100 Stargate SG-1 set, so I'm going to wait for this to drop another $50.

From December 15 through the 24th, Costco will have this set for $119.99($179.99 less a $60 instant rebate). You'll have to pay sales tax, but you'll be able to inspect the box for any possible damage.

I bought a bunch of the original releases when they were still around $125 for each one. Yikes.

I remember going north of the border to buy the earlier seasons at around $80 each. Anyone remember Total Action Universe?

I picked this up last year for $100 with Barnes and Noble's 50% off sale and I have NOT had a problem with the weight pushing down on the drawer nor any scratching. It is GREAT set.

Absolutely. I also remember the exchange rate and a sale that made those sets something close to $65 shipped and jumping on the first three seasons. But, this was when very few TV shows were out in the format, X-files was still releasing new shows, and this was like the only entire season sets of anything. Even at $80... these were incredible deals at the time (found right here in this forum, no less). Also, I remember Netflix being on long wait for the specific conspiracy episode discs from these sets, too.

I sold those sets for a small loss in early 2005... and bought seasons 1-6 slimpack for $17.99 each at Fry's. Feel good about that deal until this set pops below $80.

I think I'll wait for the Costco sale since Amazon now charges tax in NY. Also I get 2% back on all my Costco purchases and Costco has a great return policy if there is something wrong with my set.

I bought this set last christmas for about $150 at costco and I would recommend it 100%

I have had problems with the disc's weighing the box down, and the easy want to solve it it just turning the drawer inside upside down.

It's not really the complete collection anymore since it doesn't include the new movie. Maybe there will be a complete collection II later?

Looks like it's finally time to jump on this bad boy.

Just hope Amazon can get it to me in one piece. Their packaging has been horrible lately... they sent the "Blind Dead" to me in an oversized box with no padding whatsoever. Just bouncing around loose in the box. It wasn't damaged, but still...

How dare they call it "complete" without the new movie.

Finally! Such a fantastic price. My hat is off to you OP for making this deal known, 'cause I don't usually check Gold Box that much. I'm a little worried about the packaging and the sleeves, but I'll just inspect them. It does bother me that it isn't complete, but I can't see them releasing a new set with the new movie anytime soon and if they do the price won't be nearly as good as this is right now. Thanks again! Merry Christmas to me!

ARE YOU SERIOUS? I just bought the set two days ago from DVD planet for $222...LOL

edit: and btw, this baby moved up quickly in the top sales department! Fox will notice the sudden increase in profit in this set + I want to believe profit, so hopefully it's enough for a third film!!

I might recommend signing up to receive DOTD notices from Amazon. Between those and the posts here, I rarely miss out knowing what the current deal is. They may not always be DVD related, and I may not make a purchase, but it's nice to be aware. After all, I'd kick myself if I missed out on something I really wanted.

Just purchased this from Sam's Club last weekend for $129. The set is amazing!
