For those who don't know, Child's Play is a charity started by the Penny Arcade guys. The charity provides video games and other toys to children's hospitals all over the world, and they tend to collect a lot of donations just before the holidays. There's a bunch of events going on this year, many of which are listed here: http://childsplaycharity.org/events.php

There are two more which aren't on the list that I thought were worthwhile:

CheapAssGamer is doing a raffle (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/?f=564) - a $5 donation gets you 1 entry, and the prizes include things like a $500 Amazon gift certificate, Xbox 360 consoles, and iPod Touch players.

8-Bit Brigade is running a similar event, but on a smaller scale (http://www.8bitbrigade.com/childsplay2008/). In addition to the raffle, there's a gaming trivia quiz, and prizes for both events include a Rock Band 1 bundle for the Xbox 360, PS3 games, and XBLA download codes. To give full disclosure, I'm a member there and I'm organizing the events. Hopefully the mods won't mind a bit of pimping since this is all for charity, but if I'm wrong, please let me know or just edit/delete the thread.

Also, if you know of any other Child's Play fund raising events, post 'em here!

Just a quick bump since our trivia contest deadline is tonight. The raffle entry deadline is Saturday night.

The CAG raffle has some amazing prizes too, so check 'em out as well if you were planning to donate to Child's Play.

Child's Play has apparently raised close to $750,000 already with a few weeks left before the holidays. Pretty amazing in my opinion!

Yeah, I don't know if there's enough time to get something going this year, but maybe next year DVDTalk or VideoGameTalk can have some sort of event for Child's Play. I'm not sure who the contacts are at either site, but I'll try and find out for next year.
