Some decent deals on select Eureka MOC titles directly from Eureka

http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/offers/bfi.html

I just got an email from Eureka advertising a few sales going on directly through their site. Shipping is free for all UK mainland orders but for shipping elsewhere they request that you send an email to them for a quote (so it may ultimately kill any possible deal outside of the UK.) I have sent an email asking about shipping to California for Nosferatu and am waiting for a reply. A quick check at a few sites indicates that these are pretty good prices (depending on the shipping). I myself have been waiting for Nosferatu to drop below 16 GBP for awhile...

The following are 12 GBP:

Mad Detective
Mad Detective BD
Police
L'Enfance-Nue
Vampyr
Nosferatu
Sunrise

10 GBP
Salesman
Edvard Munch
Le Silence de la Mer
Metropolis

8 GBP
General Idi Amin Dada

Naruse Box set 20 GBP
Shoah 29 GBP

Pretty decent deals. If shipping turns out to be good.

Police and L'Enfance-Nue would be the best deals since they're generally more expensive than the other titles, being two discs each.

True, but, as I'm trying not to judge a book by its cover, I'm also trying not to judge a film by the number of discs it comes with.

NoirFan's comment addresses the fact that the two titles are generally difficult to find below the standard price of 15.98, not that they are worth getting because they are two-disc sets I would think!

If you go to the Xmas Gift Ideas Section there are a couple of great box sets too:

Buster Keaton - 20 pounds
Classics of German cinema - 20 pounds

@pro-b
I guess I am kind of tired of running after deals and am planning to focus on titles i really want. Sure, if there are deals on these, why not?

Speaking of which, on the same website i found Battleship Potemkin for 7 quid.

"Please note these offers are only open to UK Residents, and are limited to availability."

I have the Region 3 release of Mad Detective. No English subs on the extras, but I'm pretty sure it shipped from DDDHouse for less than the Eureka price before shipping.

Hmmm. Well I don't recall if that disclaimer was there when I initially got the link, but I know that the original email did mention to email them about shipping costs outside the UK.

Regardless, I did just receive a reply from them regarding Nosferatu shipped to California and it would only be a 1GBP....

Thanks for the email, shipping on Nosferatu is £1

Generally shipping is £1 on most items, however the box sets are a bit more.

If you let me know the other titles I can give you a more precise shipping
quote, and we can send you a combined invoice for the product and shipping

Re: Some decent deals on select Eureka MOC titles directly from Eureka

Sorry to dig up a year old thread, but I just got an email again from Eureka with some decent deals directly through them. It states that shipping is free but last year, shipping to the States was GBP 1.00 per disc so I assume its the same this year. A few of these are actually cheaper at Amazon UK but some decent deals...I personally have been waiting for Tokyo Sonata BD so will probably pick that up...

You also get a free copy of Flesh and Fury (Tony Curtis) on DVD with your order.

According to posts made by Kevin from Eureka over in the blu-ray.com forums, the shipping is free worldwide for this sale.

I picked up the Naruse set. $25 - I have had this in my amazon.co.uk shopping list for years.

You should definitely order it - wonderful films beautifully packaged. The BFI Naruse set is essential viewing as well.

I need to give my wallet a few days to breathe. I will order it before the 18th. I already received my first order, super fast shipping.

I would like to place some orders here but for some reason it's not accepting my credit cards.

Never mind - I just went through paypal. In for the Naruse and the Keaton boxes for ($25.62 & $30.77). Excellent!!

Eureka have added about 16 new titles. Finally La Notte is at a reasonable price for me...

Does anyone know if Gandahar and Les Maitres Du Temps are Region 0 NTSC like Fantastic Planet is? I don't see it mentioned on any of the reviews.

Anyone know how to combine multiple titles into a single order?

I couldn't figure that out either, but when I ordered 2 separate dvd boxes on the same day, they shipped together. Shipping's free in any case.
