DVD Talk Bargain All-Stars

I just thought I'd make a thread showing appreciation to the people on the site that continually spend their time helping the rest of us save our hard earned money.
I've only just recently found this site so I only have two names in mind at the moment, but I know there are more so feel free to add the names of those I missed.

1. speedy1961 - for week in week out giving us the ads 2 weeks early. We always know if we are going to go broke at Best Buy, Circuit City, or Target well in advance. I always know what I am going to buy on Sunday before the paper comes and have had a chance to put money aside for it. Thanks speedy

2. mnementh - for always finding his/her way to a thread in need of a list of the sale items and making it easy for us the scroll through. I am not very computer literate, so I have no idea how these lists are made but I do know mnementh takes personal time from his/her day to make things easier for all of us. Thanks for that

These two are truly all-stars, but lets not forget LASERMOVIES. I can't count how much he has "cost" me at Barnes & Noble!!

Me! For bringing style, wit and modesty to this forum!

Otherwise, concurrence. 72 virgins (or three girls who really know what they're doing) for each of them! Huzzah!

I second the nominations of all above and would like to add Punit who always seems to be first to find the big sales.

Like John S, I am especially indebted to Lasermovies who has really helped me maximize the value of my B&N membership.

I can't think of anyone to nominate offhand, but I'd like to add my thanks to those already mentioned. My library has greatly benefited this year from knowing where to go to get which titles, and I know you guys do this just out of love for the hobby. Thanks.

And fididido for the Fry's ads. Gets less attention since there aren't that many Fry's around for everyone, but it's much appreciated here.

Don't forget autolycus and moklerman for their work on the Big Lots part II and the original Big Lots threads respectively. Also, Ken Cline for his OOP Sonys at Big Lots list.

I'm sure there are others, but this is all I can think of for now.

Completely agree with those mentioned. Great work.

I did a search for something Blu-ray related the other day and ended up on a CH thread. Lots of times someone will start a useful topic and not keep it updated but as soon as I saw lizard as the thread starter there was no doubt he would. Much appreciation for the work done by him over the years in that part of the forum.

Speedy is far and away the MVP but along with mnemeth I give honorable mention to punit as he seems to always be quick with most of the deals on DD and other sites.

I'd also like to personally thank Speedy1961. I wouldn't have become a member here if it wasn't for Speedy, he truly is amazing. Also, mnementh really does clarify many of the bargains, and for that, he is also greatly appreciated. I'd also nominate the member who posted that ludicrous 24 sale from the summer too, as it was tons of fun getting the lackluster season 6 for like four bucks (for the completionist in me), though I can't seem to find his name. Last, any and every DvdBargain foot solider who continue to find and post great deals. Your assistance is much appreciated in helping my DVD habit.

I'm right there with you on that one. I would have mentioned that but can't remember the name. That 24 deal is what brought me to the site and hooked me in. That was the perfect example of how helpful this site can be. For those of us fortunate enough to get in on it, we would have missed out had the OP not been so quick with his post. In my area that deal was caught by Best Buy and fixed before noon.

BTW..As much of a completionist as I am as well, I passed on season 6 (it was just that bad...when it aired every week I would say to myself "Why am I still watching this crap"...for some reason I stayed til the end and I hate myself every day for it...lol)
