I will never order from oldies again. My last order took 26 days and the package was all damage. I had 3 broken dvd cases 4 floaters and 2 nonworking dvds due to scratches. Their CS is not helpful at all and their return process is pain in the neck. I ended up not even bothering with returning products. I took bunch of pictures and sent them but no replies. It was an ok place to order midnite movies but they are so unprofessional.

^^ MooMooMooMoo (love that name, so fun to type), how did you find that book/DVD set on the site? Were you just looking for Harryhausen stuff, or did you see a special link for some kind of clearance item or something? Thanks for the heads-up.

I just did a search on 20 Million miles to Earth and found it. Tempting, but I would like the 2D versions, so I passed.
Did pick up Motel Hell Midnite double feature (finally!) and Midnite Movies Double Feature: The Tomb of Ligeia (1965) / An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe (1970) (DVD
Not great, but have been wanting to get those for a while. Was thinking about Hammer House of Horror, but it's not longer on their website and seems to be OOS at Amazon --- so may be OOP???

Glad you like my mooings! I was alerted to it by a flyer I received in the mail on Friday. I THINK I searched for Harryhausen online after seeing it in the flyer.

Thanks for the info. I just thought maybe there was some kind of page that I couldn't find that showed the Harryhausen set listed with other items they were seriously discounting. I looked at the various discount pages, the emails I've received, and also the Top 25/100 lists (which is how I often spot deals at DD), but didn't see it anywhere.

Yeah, thanks MooMooMooMoo, I also read your post in the other thread about the Bergman collection. I've been wanting to pick this up for a long time and planned on spending around $45-55 on the set. Thanks for the heads up.

Oldies has poor customer service.I recently ordered 5 items & 4 were out of stock. They just charged my cc & never bothered to send an email about the out of stock items. In other words I wouldn't use this place to order any quantities of items.Prices may be cheap for the average consumer, but don't plan on getting more than 1 at their discount prices.
The item I"m only receiving 1 copy of (purchased 5) is still for sale on their main page, will not buy from again.
Item was Sherlock Holmes (10-DVD) $9.98 Check it.

I finally received this, but it took a while. It came in one of those soft envelopes, which, if you aren't careful, this gray insulation crap falls all over the place when you open it.

From what I am reading in couple of last posts I can see people are receiving their orders and not happy about it. I want to say that I had really bad experiences with oldies.com and I posted telling people not to order from this site. Yes prices are cheap and tempting but their whole process is a joke. Slow shipping, Horrible CS, Poor packaging and Really bad inventory system.

Mine was poorly packaged...I actually laughed as I opened it...but my Bergman Box Set was in good shape overall. Shipping was also slow, but I never really tend to notice those things as I'm so used to ordering from Planet and DD and just know that it comes with the territory. The set I ordered is so much more expensive in other places that even if it did come a bit banged up, it probably would have been worth it to me...and I'm pretty particular about the condition of the boxes.

I got my order well before Christmas. I can't recall if it was in a box or not, as I was getting a lot of packages as holiday gifts, but everything was in perfect condition. And hell, their packaging can't be any worse than what Deep Discount uses these days.

For those of you who have no issues with ordering from them, they've got a big "92% Off" sale going right now, with some pretty good titles for as little as $4.99. As I've resolved to stop buying DVDs until I've watched some more of my as-yet-unopened pile, it's hard to pass up, but I'm made of sterner stuff than that! We'll see how long that lasts...
Correction: It's an UP TO 92% Off sale

Yeah, they're probably within a buck or of $4.99 so on all the usual sites, I just happened to look at the Oldies.com site and saw it. Great opportunity to pick up some excellent movies cheap, unless you enjoy paying more than you could.
