Fry's Black Friday 1-Day Sale Ads

Here's the entertainment software listings from the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (HOU), Chicago (IL), Los Angeles/Orange County (LA), Las Vegas (LV), San Jose/Silicon Valley (SJ) and Seattle (WA) Fry's Ad(s). These prices are valid only for the dates listed in the subject line.

The items listed below are as they appear in the Fry's B&M Ads. If an item is listed as "SJ only", for example, it could still be on sale at other locations (i.e. - Austin, Sacramento, San Diego, AZ, GA, IN, OR), but it only appeared in the SJ ad. However, since these ads are not available online, I cannot confirm them. If anyone knows of a website to view any further ads, please let me know.

OMFG. I hate Fry's for not showing their ads until the day of the shopping. I go before the newspapers arrive.

Anyone else notice that the $8.99 Blu-Rays are all titles that were on HD-DVD?

Hoping that some of these deals are online...would love to pick up Knocked Up, the 40 Year Old Virgin, the Mummy and the Mummy Returns on Blu-ray. Unfortunately no Fry's anywhere near me.

I also picked up a 5" digital picture frame from them for $20 and a 500gig external hdd for $60. The Die Hard seems like a good buy too...

There is no bigger ad. But some of the items which were only listed in San Jose have expanded to all stores now. Plus, I included the DVD sale which was advertised in store and appears to be valid all weekend.

The only thing I ended up buying at Fry's was the LG GCC-H20L drive (read blu-ray, HD DVD, and does all the DVD+/-R reading and writing, plus lightscribe).

They were totally out of the $9 Blu-ray titles, and I didn't find anything too appetizing in their regular DVD aisles. This was the first year where the checkout lines were really long, and I got thing within a couple of minutes of waiting.

The were, or were not, long? The two Black Friday's I went to Fry's the lines were wrapped completely through the DVD & Video Game shelves and back towards computers...

The Fry's in Clear Lake (Houston) had the same adverstised prices as above. I picked up the Die Hard set, the Spiderman set, and Eastern Promises on BR. The line was long but went really fast (less than 5 minute wait).

VERY disappointed that none of the HD-DVDs were marked down- they even had a few on sale a couple days ago for $4.99, but I waited til today since I thought at least those would still be on sale but they weren't. I was planning on getting a whole bunch but left empty-handed. The longer they wait on these things the harder it's going to be for them to get rid of them- I've already bought all the ones that are worth $10 to me. They don't even sell anything to play these on now except for that XBox thing.

FWIW, as I was shopping in the Blu-Ray aisle this evening, an employee told me that there would be a "lot" of new deals tomorrow and that I should definitely come back. YMMV I suppose.

I used to work at Frys and my former boss told me the same thing, there should be good bluray deals tomorrow. Fingers crossed, I guess.

Edit...

Found an ad here: http://local.ads.nwsource.com/ads/si...1n/frys_4page/

Some good stuff. I'm in for Men In Black for $9.99, so pumped for that film. (blu's are on page three)
