this has been one of the most pleasant surprises of this, or any television year. I tivo'd the first episode on a whim, and have been absolutely hooked on this show ever since. This show, Chuck, and Supernatural are the best three shows on television right now.

I basically decided to watch this to see Charlie Hunnam, and it's turned out to be a terrific watch. The season just kept getting better and better.

So, could Jax tell Clay was lying to him about Opie and that's why he went and fought Tig? That fight seemed a little much just because he was about to kill a female witness.

i think it went beyond that..he strongly suspects Tig Opie's wife and here he is again about to put a bullet in yet another female

I think he knows Clay is lying, but I don't think he knows the full extent quite yet..

good finale, they teased but held off on a full blooded showdown between Jax and Clay/Tigs

Sets up a great second season

I wonder how long they can hold that off before it just becomes necessary.

I mean, now that the Shield is gone and Rescue Me is bailing, they need a good action/male drama to fill the slot. Sons seems to be that show. The season has just gotten better.

Everyone knows what's building, but how long before they run the gamut of scenarios between Clay and Jax and the ultimate showdown does occur. I think it'll be interesting to see how Gemma handles it too.

Enjoyed the season finale, although with little/no resolution, there's a lot of stuff to be taken care of in season 2.

According to the show's website it was Curtis Stigers & The Forest Rangers. Stigers sings the theme song of the show as well.

Felt a little like Losts Season 1 finale. They really held back. Oh well. Still a solid season, I'll be back for season 2.

Finally watched this...loved how they showed the sides in the inevitable battle to come at the end - Jax, Opie, his dad, what's his name with the shaved head, vs. Clay, Tig, maybe Irish dude?

Will season 2 not be until next fall?

My bad, I've only ever known the song to be sung by Gov't Mule, haven't heard it in a while so when it popped up on Sons I just figured it was them. Thanks for clarifying!

John the Revelator is a traditional song is not? I have heard the Gov't Mule version, but I love Son House's version, just him and his hands...good stuff.

Awesome finale, can't wait for season 2.

Re: Sons of Anarchy -- "The Revelator" -- Season Finale -- 11/26/08

I just watched the entire season of SoA and I really liked it. Like others have posted, each episode got better and better.

Now that I know that season 2 has already been greenlit, I was wondering if anyone else thought that Clay, Tigs, and Gemma had something to do with the death of Jax's father? They never really tell you how he died and from the show, it definitely seems that Jax's father and Clay were having serious differences of opinion.

Anyone else think they killed him? Maybe Lowell's father was involved which is why they killed him?

I've always gotten the impression this is the case, especially since I remember hearing this was inspired by Hamlet somewhere before the season started.
