Entourage *Season Finale* - "Return to Queens Blvd" - 11/23/08

"Return to Queens Blvd"
Spoiler:
In the Season Five finale, the guys party it up in NYC despite a not-so-triumphant return. After getting a tip from Vince's mom, E stalks Gus Van Sant to convince him to cast Vince in a role. Meanwhile, Vince reconnects with his high school sweetheart and Drama considers an investment opportunity.

Decent finale. Seems a little like hitting a reset button but since Vince has had shit luck all season I'll cut them some slack.

New episodes this summer apparently.

Really enjoyed this one. It was good to see Vince show some frustration over his career, and I loved seeing them back home with family and old friends. My only complaint is that other shows have extended times for the season finale, but we just had the regular 22 minutes or so for this one. Everything felt a little rushed.

Yeah for the first time Vince actually looked like he cared about what was going on in his own life and was worried. As unrealistic as it may be, his career was really tanking and he could have been in rough shape. Instead of just saying "whatever" like he normally does he actually realized that he might be in a lot of trouble if things kept going the way they were.

Am I the only one that's starting to like Turtle a little more? It seems lately he isn't quite the same shiftless layabout who's only purpose in life was to find weed. Maybe it's because his character hasn't done a whole lot lately or maybe it's just because I learned that the actor playing him (Jerry Ferrara) REALLY is dating Jamie-Lynn Sigler. In any event Turtle has just grown on me a little bit lately.

Excellent episode, Drama's kind of an annoying prick for being in Turtle's buisness but great ep overall. Can't wait to see what happens with Vince and Scorsese.

How fleeting is friendship in the life of an actor down on his luck? Pretty.

Got a good laugh at Turtle getting busted by his mom for his phone play with Jamie.

I loved the "Welcome Home" sign

Drama's mom telling him at his age he's going to have a heart attack if he keeps partying like that

Welcome home International Movie Star Vincent Chase (and TV star Johnny Drama). Funniest part of the episode.

I thought this was a great finale. One of the most surprising moments of the series thus far was when Vince got off the phone with Van Sant and yelled fuck and threw the phone against the wall. Awesome moment.

Good episode all around. I love the Turtle/Jaime Lynn stuff. The end part when he was on the phone with her and his mom picks up was gold. Good to see the guys hanging out in Queens.

The Vince/E story has been done so many times. The finale for season one was very similar. I didn't mind it though. A big dues ex machina end with Scorcese showing up but it doesn't bother me at all when that happens on this show.

Good season.

I don't see it that way. Despite his recent career problems, Vince is still a recognizable movie star and someone with whom Scorcese would want to work.

Ari's arrival in NY was great.

Also thought the Michael Phelps cameo was good.

I see Vince as Leonard DiCaprio, so I'm not surprised that Scorsese picked him up.

What? The most power agent in town is still fighting for him, despite the fact any other agent would have dropped him by now.

If thats the case they might as well make Marty a regular on the show and have Vince do nothing but Scorcese movies for the rest of the series.

A fresh perspective here. I just picked the series up this season. (Planning on buying Seasons 1-3 at BB's $10 sale on BF to catch up.) Turtle is one of my favorite characters. His mom putting the block on his play with JLS was comic gold. Drama being annoying with finding out who Turtle was talking to was even redeemed when he finally found out who it was. His reaction was priceless. While the season moved a long way from Vince in Mexico to where this ep finished up, I thought the last two episodes were a bit rushed. Can't wait for summer...

If that dude didn't have those ginormous ears I'd never recognize him. As it were he stands out like dumbo, even on a nyc crosswalk.

Completely pointless. I do like that they portrayed him as a prick, which, he indeed is.

I am actually glad it had an happy ending.

The constant idiotic decisions by the group and bad news was starting to wear on my love for the show.

Oh, it was definitely pointless... that's why I liked it, haha! It was like Michael Phelps wanted to be on, so they were like "sure, you can be some prick on the street that E runs into. If the viewer blinks they'll miss you," and Michael Phelps said "Cool!"

I did miss him. I had no idea that was Michael Phelps.

I didn't blink, but I certainly didn't recognize him either.

I liked the episode and where it ended up but I thought the whole Eric and Vincent making up scene at the end was pretty lame.

agreed - that scene at the end was not right for this show at all.
