I'm guessing this is the same Nightman Charlie sings about in a previous episode, who came into his room when he was a child and raped him, though he liked it...

Yes - this follows up the song featured in last season's "Sweet Dee's Dating a Retarded Person".

Oh boy - this is the season finale. This should be good!

I dunno. I'm getting flashbacks of the "Scrubs" musical. That show always cracks me up (well, less so in later seasons), but that episode was just painful to watch. And they had some real talent behind the songs (the "Avenue Q" folks).

Shatter my expectations, Nightman!

I also have incredibly low expectations for this episode.

Quite a different beast. This is an episode about Charlie writing a musical that the characters play characters, performing and singing on stage for an audience as opposed to a musical EPISODE when the characters are portraying themselves while singing their dialogue.

Well, it's not a musical episode, it's just the gang putting on a stage musical.

I have high hopes here.

I really liked the Scrubs musical episode, though there were a couple of clunkers in terms of the songs.

Wow...for a season that started so fantastically, it really downward spiraled in it's last leg.

This episode was almost as bad as the "Back in Time" episode they just did. I mean, all this episode was was taking a funny joke from Season 3 and extending it into a whole episode. Seriously, once we saw Charlie talk to the Waitress, we knew exactly what his plan was, and exactly how it would pan out.

"The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis" and "Mac's Banging the Waitress" are two of my favorites from the entire series...and every other season has their episodes that aren't as great but still watchable. This episode and the Paddy's Pub in the past will probably never be watched again.

Disappointing season finale.

Charlie's rant about cutting Dee's song made this worth it for me.

There's a fine line in between being bad and awkward intentionally, and being bad and awkward unintentionally. The ywent back and forth over that line in this episode - it was funny, but there was something off.

True. I guess it's the difference between watching "Oklahoma!" and "Waiting for Guffman." With a handful of exceptions - "Little Shop of Horrors," "South Pacific," "Guys and Dolls," "Avenue Q," "Rocky Horror," "South Park: B,L&U," "The Wall" (if that counts) - I don't care for proper musicals. They just seem silly (even the ones that I listed, but the quality of the music redeems those).

As for last night's episode, it was better than I thought it would be. Not great, but still had some laughs.

I did laugh a lot during this episode but, that might be the result of me being drunk.

I really liked the Scrubs musical, but this fell flat (except the original song that basically spawned the episode, which is still gold).

That might be my favorite moment of the series. Usually the gang are just assholes in a general sense, but Charlie went apeshit on her. I loved it.

And yes, I believe the waitress did get a boob job. Good job, Charlie!

I thought the ending was a little weak, but otherwise I liked it.

Loved the episode -- hilarious! I welcomed the return of the Dayman song. They got Charlie to sing it at Comic Con too.

I was disappointed. There were a couple of good points like Dee and Charlie's scene and the troll hole song, but mostly it felt like they were running a joke into the ground. And Artimus was completely wasted here.
