Best way to make my Xbox 360 controller "Green"?

So since the console was launched I have been using regular old AA batteries in my 360 controllers.

I was about to order the Quick Charge Kit and an extra battery pack for my controllers when I saw that Costco will have a deal on Sanyo Eneloop batteries next week.

Anyone have any experience with these batteries in a controller? Mainly wondering about any issues, as I read they have a lower voltage than regular AA batteries (but couldn't find much info).

Would prefer Eneloop as I could get AAA for my Harmony remote, which is also a battery hog as well as use the AA for controllers in other devices.

I can't believe people still use AA batteries instead of the charging kit. Do yourself a favor, and leave the batteries behind.

Well I use Eneloop in my controller and they work great but I don't play often. I also use them in our 880 and work great their also.

I still use AA batteries. But my wife has free batteries because of her work. So there are always 2 or 3 boxes at home.

how much time does it take a full charge?
and how many hours, in average, does it last?

I've been using the eneloop batteries without a problem. I don't play that often but they seem to work as advertised and don't seem to drop their charge all the time like my old Energizer rechargeable ones were. What is the special at Costco next week?

I use the Eneloop batteries. They don't last quite as long as normal AA batteries, but they still last me weeks. I just have two batteries more than the total I need for my various game controllers, so that I always have two replacements ready to go. It is far cheaper than having non rechargables, and it isn't proprietary like charge kits.

Cool, thanks for the input. Looks like I'll grab Eneloops since the use of AAA rechargeable would be equally helpful.

Now, I was just in CostCo last weekend and didn't see any Eneloops, so maybe they are adding it soon. They did have a Duracell kit for $20. They also had bottles of Chimay Blue for $8.99 :)

I've seen the kit at my local Costco and actually bought one. They are a pretty good deal even without the extra $9 off. I'll buy another set now too. I needed more for our Wii remotes for the kids.

Screw the charging kits; I never saw a point in those. Get a battery charger and a bunch of rechargable AA's. I always have four Energizer E2 AAs in, ready to go. The moment I get that flashing circle in a controller or guitar, I swap them out in a few seconds. I can't imagine any plug& play kit being much easier than that.

I've been doing this since the 360 came out. Works great for me. Plus I can use the batteries in my Wii controllers as well.

I've been using the Eneloop batteries in our Wii controllers for months and they work just fine. In fact, I bought the Eneloop set at Costco.

I use Eneloops in my Canon flash, Harmon 550, Wiimote, and Guitar Controller. But for the wireless controllers, I've got 2 batteries and the charge station. Works great for me.

for anyone looking to go either direction, the live.com/ebay/paypal cash back thing is still going on, so perhaps you can get a nice setup cheaper on there...

I was just at Fry's today looking for more Eneloops but they didn't have any. I use them in all my video game controllers and digital cameras and they work great.

Check if your Fry's has the Sony Pre-Charged CycleEnergy batteries. I just learned that they are actually manufactured by Sanyo, and are in fact relabelled Eneloops.
