11/17 (Monday): House Masters by Louie Vega
Interesting note here: The main site says that the price is $7.99, but the album's page itself says $0.99. So YMMV. Lots of long tracks though.

Amazon Holiday Sampler by Various Artists - FREE
Also, not free, but Amazon has this album:
The Tarquin Records All Star Holiday Extravaganza by Various Artists - $8.99
I bought this album on CD before it went OOP and started selling for over $25, so the MP3 album is a good deal in comparison. With 35 songs, there's a bit of filler, but still enough good tracks to justify the price. Plus it's the holiday album that keeps on giving: there's 2 Thanksgiving songs on it, and then after Christmas is over there's a Groundhog Day song.

Yeah, the download link is gone from the album page. When I posted it, you could get the album for free, but the individual tracks were priced at $0.99. I'm guessing someone repriced the individual tracks to stop any customer confusion, but instead of changing them to "album only" they changed them to "unavailable," which made the album as a whole unavailable as well.

Update on the Holiday Sampler. I sent an email to Amazon's Customer support and got this response:
It looks an awful lot like a form letter. I'm not sure I buy the "record company won't let us offer it because of no DRM" argument, since this was called the Amazon Holiday Sampler, meaning it's not like Capitol is going to offer this sampler on iTunes or Napster any time soon.
More likely, the responder didn't know the real answer why it's not available and just sent a general response so that my question was "resolved" in a timely manner.

I fucking hate this "form letter" trend major companies seem to have embraced in recent years. Most of them are condescending, insulting and just plain irritating to someone of even just moderate intelligence.
Aargh, reading that made my toes curl cause I want to slap the barely out of college snot nosed prick who sent it upside the head.
