I love how the article itself is blaming the game for turning this boy into a hooligan...yet they have an ad for the next game right there in the middle.

"This had become his identity, and I didn't realize how in-depth this was until I took his Xbox away," Steve Crisp told the Globe and Mail. "That's like cutting his legs off."

What happened to the good ol days where dad would punch you in the mouth and throw a 13" black and white TV at you for mouthing off?
Taking your Xbox 360 away is just cruel and unusual
"I guess he has UAV jammer on."
Thanks -- I just spit water all over my monitor!

If that dad got his son killed over a freaking video game... wow.
I figure he'll either commit suicide or become yet another 'activist' blaming something(video games) for his woes. Of the two let's hope it's suicide.

While I agree it's ridiculous that a kid ran away because his xbox was taken away, the fact that they've pretty much called off a search and he looks to be dead, isn't exactly something I'd put at the top of my 'make fun of list'. If God forbid, anyone around here had a child go missing, even under similar circumstances, I doubt there'd be such levity...

This kid had better hope he is being held against his will.

'America's Most Wanted' takes on Crisp case
Updated: Thu Oct. 30 2008 1:34:15 PM

Police are taking their search for a missing Barrie, Ont. boy south of the border, enlisting the help of a popular crime TV show.
Brandon Crisp, 15, is seen in this undated police handout photo.
"America's Most Wanted" is now featuring the case of 15-year-old Brandon Crisp on their website. Officials at the show say they are monitoring the case and might feature it on their show if police believe the avid gamer might have made his way to the U.S.
Crisp went missing on Oct. 13, Thanksgiving Day, after getting into a fight with his parents over his incessant video-game playing.
The boy left home on his bike and hasn't been seen since. His bike has since been recovered.
Police in Barrie say they are not ruling anything out and are investigating whether Crisp ventured into the U.S. to meet with people he met over the Internet, many of them American residents. His parents fear he might have possibly been taken against his will.
Meanwhile, friends, family and strangers who have been touched by the story gathered in Shanty Bay Wednesday night for a candlelight vigil and prayers. The vigil was organized through a Facebook group set up in honour of Brandon.
"We need to make Brandon aware that the light is there, there's a light of hope for him, and that we're lighting the way for him to find his way home," said Nancy Dickey, a Facebook group member.
Although police have ended their official ground search for the missing teen, the Ontario Provincial Police' cyber=crime unit is taking a look at Crisp's computer, his Xbox, text messages and emails for clues.
