AMC Horrorfest

What's the reasoning of showing the same movie two or three times in one day? Even over a few days? Pet Sematary, Constantine, Halloween movies, etc. Looking at their schedule that's what seems to be going on here.
Does that make any sense to anybody? It sure doesn't make sense to me.

In this day and age, its probably a lot harder to get the rights to show a wide range of worthwhile movies - especially for a second tier network ('Mad Men' not withstanding) like AMC.

Also, most viewers won't sit down and watch several movies in a row, so showing a small number of well known movies repeatedly will theoretically catch more people tuning in and out.

IFC seems to have the rights to the original Halloween; I've seen it on that channel a few times already this month, and it was the same thing the year before.

I have to agree that it is the most effective of the series. Although I would argue that H20 is the overall best sequel.

I wanted to watch Motel Hell - a flick that I haven't seen since I was a kid - the other day, but, man, I didn't want to stay up for its 4 am start on Sunday. Luckily, it'll be repeated this afternoon. I'm going to ask my friend to record it for me (as I don't have a DVR).

AMC's Horrorfest is okay, but I much prefer Turner Classic Movies' horror themed programming. Now, they get it right.
