It would be going with my Sony Bravia 40" 120hz television. I'm looking to spend around $80. I've thought about an Oppo but I won't be using it that much to justify the cost.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks!

Good point. Well, I already have a PS3 to upconvert all of my region 1 dvd's. And I don't see myself playing many foreign dvd's in the future. This is mainly for a single DVD set that I just bought.
But to future proof, I think you've made a very good point, and convinced me to shell out out the extra. I'm raising my max price to whatever I can be convinced to... Anyone have any good experiences and suggestions? Money aside?

DVD Talk Legend
And therein lies my issue.
I am still waiting for several new(er) players to be released and tested. The OPPO player is coming, I have yet to see a the Sony 550 or the Panasonic BD50. I am also not sure where Denon is with their latest as the entire format has put me off.

You're talking DVD player, not BD player, correct? I'm extremely happy with my Pioneer DV-400V. Plays all region DVDs and upconverts to 1080p via HDMI connection. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but it was around $129 on eBay.
