Farcry 2 freezing problems (ps3)

right after my character woke up in the closet and was talking to the guy (after the very first malaria fit and passing out) the game has been freezing every 30 seconds. is anyone else having these problems or has anyone heard any information on this? thanks

Hi,
I've experienced the same problems. Although I observed it already at the intro-movie in the cab. Do You have a PS3 60GB version (first models?); every 30 seconds there's a short freeze in the game. I think there are 2 possibilities. The latest software update, making it a software problem, so it could be over with the next update. Or it is something with either the game-bluray or the bluray drive of the PS3, resulting in a faulty read of the data of the bluray. Or even a dirty optical lens of the bluray-drive. Hopefully none of the latter apply :-) I just returned my farcry2 game and took dead spacce instead. No problems here. I also had Legendary (wouldn't recommend that) but sometimes I encountered these freezing issues again, however not in gameplay, but during the movies between (is strange)

It probably didn't help much, but you could wait 'till the next update. Or try formatting the PS3 and installing the game again?

thanks for replying...actually i figured it out later that night when i was having the problems. all you have to do is go into system settings--notification messages and turn them off ("do not display")

no problems since...thanks anyways
btw...i suggest getting it again, it's a great game
