Heading to Vegas in November and am thinking about proposing to my GF while there. Did some research and it seems the Bellagio Fountains (either outside or in the bar/restaraunt there) the Eiffel Tower and the Gondola rides have gotten the most recommendations.
But, I thought maybe we could get our portrait drawn by a caricature artist and have him draw me down on one knee proposing. She wouldn't be able to see it until he was done and then I could do it. I know of one over on Freemont St., but that might be too crowded, and they show the work on a tv monitor while it's being done, so that my spoil the surprise.
Are there any of these guys in or outside of the major casinos?

I have been to vegas several times. There are artists next to Harrahs in the little round-about walkway that will do a sketch for you. Right next to Harrahs and Across from the forum shops

i just proposed on top of the eiffel tower 2 months ago - great place to do it but of course at night. amazing view. (including the bellagio fountains)

personally, i think the caricature idea is tacky. top of the "eiffel tower" is romantic, or maybe at the bellagio restaurant on the water when the fountains are going.

Tacky to you, but of the 9 women I have run that idea by, I'm battin' 9 for 9!
Anyone else have any ideas as to where one of'em might be located?

I was gonna say here also. The traffic moves well through there to so it won't be quite as crowded
