Any DVDs where the movie is so bad, they apologize in the commentary?
Im not talking about movies that are supposed to be bad, but are there any genuinely sincere movies that they admitted were awful?
One I heard of is the 'Bats' movie where Lou Diamond Phillips is doing the commentary drunk and he constantly slams the movie. I dont have it, but can anyone verify this?

In the special features, David Zucker provides commentary on the lengthy original ending for Scary Movie 3. It's obvious he hates it, and interesting how he knows when something he's directed isn't very funny.

Mallrats. Sort of.
(Though the movie has held up better than I thought it would.)

They don't necessarily apologize, but on the commentary for "Cheerleader Massacre" they constantly bash the movie for being bad, and both the director and star answer their cellphones during the commentary and talk for awhile. Very professional.

Now that would be a refreshing change, especially during a heated political season to hear some refreshing honesty. That's why I'm not that much in to the behind the scenes interviews; every director is the best I've ever worked with, every actor and actress has been so much fun and funny and I'd love to work with them again. This movie was the best time I ever had.
When they really want to say; that director was a douchebag, who the f.. hired him? That lead actor all he wanted to do was screw and when I said no he ate onions and burped in my mouth during the kissing scene. That lead actress thinks she's the fuckin queen of sheeba, the bitch. She can stroke my meat before I ever work with her again. Who wrote this steaming pile of crap anyway. My goddammed 8 year old writes funnier stuff than this. It would be nice if once during the entire god damned filming the leads showed up on time and weren't jerkin it in their trailers. Oh, is this mike on?

Sort of an indirect apology, but Mark Gordon and Graham Yost mentioned on the Speed commentary that they had zero involvement with Speed 2 even though Gordon was credited as Producer. Both guys laughed when they mentioned the movie. You pretty much get the message that they hated the idea.

In the commentary for the made-for-HBO movie PU-239 writer/director Scott Z. Burns more-or-less apologizes for some aspects of the film that he didn't think worked as well as they should have and for the behavior of his commentary co-participant executive producer Peter Berg who comes off as incredibly unlikeable. From the review:
The only extra on this release other than forced trailers for other HBO films is a commentary track with writer/director Scott Z. Burns and executive producer Peter Berg. Burns comes off as affable, but slightly embarrassed about shortcomings in the film and about Berg's behavior during the commentary. Berg, on the other hand, comes across as playing some kind of odd, loathsome Hollywood caricature. He presents himself as boorish, uninformed, bored, mildly misogynistic and perhaps even a bit racist, and goes out of his way to derail the commentary at every turn. I've never found another commentary participant so unremittingly dislikable as Berg is here.

Slight derail, but I always imaged that I would like Peter Berg. I've never met him, seen an extended interview, or listened to a commentary of his; but from his days on Chicago Hope and his interesting, if mixed quality, films. Kind of disappointed to read the previous post.
