horror movie talk: where to see them?

I think either last year or 2yrs ago, some theaters hosted scary/horror movies during this time...

they are not main stream, some would be foreign and whatnot... usually special showings.

anyone in Los Angeles area know what i'm talking about?

TIA!

You just missed a horror movie marathon at the New Beverly Cinema (a great little theater where Diablo Cody, Patton Oswald, Seth Green, and Edgar Wright have all hosted their own week of films.) They screened:

Creepers
The House on Sorority Row
Short: In the Wall
Zombi 2
a mystery movie (Turned out to be House)
Teenage Mother
The Power

and Raw Force

It was a good time, and Patton Oswald brought cupcakes.

^ I almost went to that, but I wasn't able to make it. Sounds like a good time. I'm planning to head up on Sat for The Wraith.

Last year it came out in November, I thought that was kinda late but January??? I don't get it, this movie series would be perfect for Halloween, what the hell is the deal? Why can't they show these in October? I would be much more likely to go see them before the the weather gets really bad and cold here in michigan.
