For the Targets I go to, they don't have regular cases until all their exclusives are gone. So your better bet may be to go somewhere else.

It's hard to read the Target ad - since it says it has a bonus disc, is a 2-disc, 3-disc or 4-disc set? If it doesn't contain at least 3 discs, I'll pick up the CC or BB version. Packaging is cool but I like the extra content.

Just got back from my Target about an hour ago. All copies of the exclusive packaging were gone, save for one that some meathead hid behind the single discs. Suffice to say, I grabbed it. It is pretty darn neat looking, and it does a servicable job of holding the disc (the paper sleeve is fine for the bonus features). It does come in a clear slipcase to hold the other two discs, but it's not much of a problem. Besides, who keeps the digital copy once they slap it on their computer?

I gotta give Target credit though for trying to give us cool and different exclusives.
Up until now Target has been the place to go only if they had a lower price (and even then, you could PM elsewhere) because they've had either lame, or non-existent, exclusives.
But in the past month we've seen the Iron Man helmet packaging, the Indy IV packaging with the book, and now Hulk. All pretty nifty, and definite decision-makers for me, even if the Hulk head isn't quite everything we'd hoped.
I'll take this kind of innovative and unique packaging over lame lithographs and such any day!

Mine is holding the second disc just fine. Maybe they were concerned that sitting on your shelf it can hold the disc fine, but getting jostled around in shipping it would come loose and scratch, so they put it in an envelope.

If I'm not mistaken the "Target-Exclusive Content" might just be the packaging.
Nothing against them but Target has a knack for special wording in their ads. There was a poster a week before mentioning this about The Indiana Jones: KOTCS exclusive set. That set also mentioned special content, but in the end was just a mention of the packaging.
It's in line with when Target has "Sale" signs in their video games section advertising what looks like a sale. In the end there are many times they are just advertising the retail price.

The DVD holder looks no different from the Transformers or Iron Man one. I would think it would hold 2-discs just fine. As for the third disc, even if you bought the one that comes in the regular DVD cases, people said the digital copy comes in a paper sleeve as well. Here's more pictures of it, including an upclose shot of the exclusive info on the back:

Well, I will still go for the Target one for the Exclusive Bonus Disc. The extra 30 minutes stuff that other stores don't have is worth more than the dvd case.
The dvd steelbook is sell around $40 on ebay + about $10 shipping and not many people selling it. Maybe it is too early.

There is no 4th disc in the Target set, right? The second page of bonus features on the bonus features disc is the 30 minutes of Target exclusives, correct? If not, I have to go back. Already had to go back to CC for a copy of Casino Royale 3 disc WITH e movie cash (one I bought had the sticker but nothing inside). If I have to go out again I'm gonna scream. It does appear from the dvdtalk 3 disc Hulk review that the bonus features on the second page weren't reviewed & I'm thinking they must be the Target exclusives but a confirmation would be appreciated.

You got the same thing as me (empty second tray with bonus disc in white sleeve). I'm sure now that those are the exclusive bonus discs for Target with the second menu page of features which were not reviewed by dvdtalk being the 30+ minutes of Target features. Whew, I thought I was screwed again.

For the curious, the back of the box says
"30 minutes of Target exclusive features including:

Personally, I wonder what that evolution of the Hulk part is about. Do they talk more about the comics than they already do?

my biggest gripe is the size of the thing. the thickness is more than THREE standard amarays and that's not a good thing now that i'm trying to condense/conserve shelf space.

I picked up Incredible Hulk on Blu-Ray at Target, and when I pulled off the slipcover, I noticed that there was no shrink wrap on the green BD case.
The white sticky label was on the top and the stuff seemed to all be there on the inside of the case (the BD disc, the white sleeve digital copy DVD, digital copy code, and user guide insert), and it looks like it hasn't been touched, so I guess it's fine. Anyone else have this issue?

I bought the Target exclusive edition mainly for the extra bonus features. I too think the packaging is pretty weak. The Hulk looks a lot more cartoonish compared to the pics in the ad.
The discs are also kinda haphazardly set up. One in the tray on the back, one in a paper sleeve, and the digital copy disc in a separate sleeve.
I'm probably just gonna put the DVDs in a different case, print out a cover, and slip that onto my DVD shelf. The brick wall is going into a box in the closet.

It's not really any larger than the Iron Man Exclusive set. It's not worth getting if you plan on putting it on a shelf library style with all your other dvd's. I assume most are buying it to be displayed.

I haven't played the disc yet, but if I am understanding this correctly, it's 30 additional minutes of featurettes in addition to the content already on the disc.
On the bottom of the package, if you look at the running time of Disc 2, it's about 116 minutes.

and I am regretting it a little. Like the others have mentioned, it does look really lame compared to the ad. It does look great when the brick is closed, but when you see the Hulk inside, he looks awful. (Actually when you open up just the left side of the Hulk, it does look great too)
But if I have to choose again, I probably would have gone with the blu-ray. But since I already opened this up, I will wait and buy a blu-ray when it becomes like $10.

I'm confused... does Target have exclusive content or not? I really don't care about packaging. My Target was sold out, so I bought mine at Best Buy, but if Target has exclusive bonus features, I'll defintely wait for them to get more in stock and return mine from Best Buy.
The only way we will know for sure is if someone watches disc 2 on the Target edition and compares it with the other edition.

Already had to go back to CC for a copy of Casino Royale 3 disc WITH e movie cash (one I bought had the sticker but nothing inside). If I have to go out again I'm gonna scream.
Save yourself a trip and a scream. There is nothing inside. Look on the back of your sticker. Hopefully you have not thrown it away yet.
I went back & found out that it was inside the sticker. Never thought of looking there. Still had all the packaging so I have my ticket printed out.
I was going to point that out, too. I've started to see that happening a lot with the "Free Movie Cash" offers, lately. Actually that was how I saw the Hulk in theaters. I bought some older Universal movie on sale, and it had the same kind of deal - but you could use the ticket to see either Hulk, Wanted, Hellboy II or the latest Mummy sequel. Instead of there being a physical ticket in the package, there's a website address and code on the back of the sticker. You go to the site, enter some info, and then they e-mail you back another site address where you can go to print out the ticket. My guess is that it cuts down on paper use, and allows them to track how many of these are actually being used.

Best Buy w/ the 3-D cover.
Complete with a huge sticker that's probably going to gunk it all up.

Just got home from Target and cracked open the packaging. The discs aren't too secure, so I just taped the discs over the hub with a small piece of clear tape. Kind of ghetto, but it does the trick. Also, I used the paper sleeve that the bonus disc came in for the Best Buy Sneak Peek DVD that came out shortly before the movie.
The thing I'm not crazy about is removing the UPC from the back. There is a rebate from Hostess I was planning on taking advantage of, but I'm afraid that cutting off the UPC from the back right-hand corner will make it difficult for the case to close again. Maybe I'll just forego the $4 from Hostess, I dunno.
Overall, while it's not Target's best attempt at exclusive packaging, at least it's better than the cover art for the special edition. Why Universal never went with the original poster art that evoked the Bill Bixby series is beyond me. The art that they decided to go with just seemed too 'video game' for me.

Well I guess that makes sense.
If anyone's up to it, let me know :) My little brother really wants to open up the one we bought from Best Buy, but I told him to wait 'til I know for sure whether or not I'll be returning it to buy the Target version.

I hope so. That didn't happen on Iron Man special package dvd. :(
There are still some of the Iron Man Exclusives at the Target near me, the sd one not the blu.
I went to look at it, The Hulk Exclusive, and I passed on it, and they had like 6-7 rows of 'em when I went in the afternoon.

...or else we could get someone to 'inventory' the special features on the Target edition, and compare it to an 'inventory' done by someone else of the 'standard' 3-disk version.
...my bet is they're identical, but looking forward to being proven wrong! Target LOVES to throw around the word 'exclusive' on their packaging and advertising, even when it isn't entirely accurate. I wish there were some way to more effectively 'call' them on that tactic.

Was it just me or did anybody else who bought the Target special edition have a problem finding one that wasn't damaged? I must've gone through at least 5 of them before noticing part of the outside plastic was damaged. I finally found one in perfect condition.
Yep. Same problem here in Memphis. I actually had to take my first copy back because I was in such a hurry that I didn't notice that my copy was totally split on the sides. When I went back I couldn't find any that weren't at least a little damaged since they only had 3 copies left at that point. They should have put these on some other sort of display since it's their display rack that is doing the damage. This packaging is just too big for their normal DVD end cap. Oh well, I'm happy with the one I ended up with at the end of the day. Another thing, you can easily fit all 3 discs in the package because the wells are really deep. Overall a really great package.

Blockbuster has a framed comic book cover with the purchase of any Incredible Hulk DVD (single, 3-disc, blu-ray). Ever since Iron Man, they've had exclusives for every big movie (Iron Man, Indy, Hulk). We should start checking them out from now on. In my opinion, the framed comic is way better than Best Buy's lithograph.
Does anyone have pictures of the steelbook? My FYE didn't have any.

For people who picked up the Target exclusive edition please open immediately and check the discs. I got a set with 2 digital copies. Went to the store I bought it from (La Verne, CA) and they opened all the remaining 8 sets and all had 2 digital copies with the bonus disc missing.
I had to drive to another Target to get it exchanged.

Where am I buying it?
I'm not.At least not any time soon. There was a HULK movie that came out in 2003 and that is good enough for me.
Instead of buying HULK'08,I would rather use the money to pick up the World War Hulk TPB.

I've got the Incredible Hulk 3-disc from Target. The first store I went to was sold out, so I had to go to another that had 2 left.
The 2nd disc does indeed have Target exclusive features according to the back of the box. It mentions 30 minutes of exclusive footage in addition to what's on the other 3-discers out there.
I don't understand though why the 2nd disc was put in a paper sleever instead of just put in the same case as the 1st disc (similar to the Iron Man mask). Seems like it would have been easier to me, and that's what I did as soon as I took it out of the package anyway.

I landed up purchasing the 3 disc set at Best Buy. The funny thing is, I went to a bunch of stores yesterday; I got the last 3 disc set from BB, and WalMart, Meijer, K-Mart and Target had none. The Target did have one more of their set though.
I didn't even think of it while I was there, but I wasn't even offered the lithograph at BB. :(

I can confirm that the following Target Exclusive menu items from the earlier helpful post DO NOT appear to be on the 3-disk set I purchased from Circuit City:
-An incredible evolution
-The hulk who wasn't there
-Creating hulk comic books
-The incredible hulk screening in Austin, Texas
-Being Green
So Target must have sprung for an alternate version of Disk 2. Huh. Color me surprised.
Thanks all!

Anybody that has watched the target exclusive extras confirm if they are any good or just fluff?
So, there is no U.S. steelbook?
Does Best Buy also have a 3-d lenticular cover in addition to the lithograph?
Sorry if these are already answered but wasn't sure after reading the thread and checking online.

From what my FYE told me, as well as others: there is no US steelbook.
The 3D cover can be found anywhere, but it's only available for the Blu-Ray version. I'm guessing the reason the 3-Disc version doesn't have a lenticular cover is because they decided to give a texture to the cover (I apologize if that's not the best way to explain it).
If you're going after the lithograph, I highly recommend you check out Blockbuster if you have one near you. They are giving out framed comic book covers that are much nicer than the lithograph in my opinion.

^ iirc, they are generally card-shaped cd-rom (or dvd-rom?) disks that can be played in a windows pc, containing wallpapers, games, demos, mp3s, exclusive content, whatever. theyve been used as bonus disks in store exclusives a while back, but not too lately. i thought these were dead for sure.

Oh, I see. That blu-ray set of Iron Man in Canada was a much better deal than the standard one. Are you trying for the blu-ray Iron Man SteelBook, or the regular Iron Man SteelBook? If it's the regular one, I might be able to help you out. An FYE I go to sometimes they had tons of them still on the shelves. If it's the blu-ray, that one might be tough to get, unless you want to pay those EBay prices.
I picked up the Hulk at Best Buy after I listened to their Surround sound pitch to get a $10 off coupon on any blu-ray movie. I'm hoping to get the SteelBook in a trade. Best Buy was all out of the Lithograph. I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of it, and I might try to get one later to go with the others I have.

For anyone having trouble chasing down the Target edition....
I was having trouble myself finding a copy, until I brought the little 'sale price' endcap tag to customer service, and asked if they could check inventory in other Target stores.
Bobsyeruncle. 10 seconds later they'd printed out a list of local Targets that still had them in stock as of opening that morning. No more blind running around. That must be pretty new, I don't think Target had been able to remotely check inventory in other stores before. Might make Christmas Shopping much easier this year.

I think they have been able to do that for a long time. You used to be able to get rain checks that allowed you to get a substitute item for the same discount, and they would print out with area locations with the item in stock.

Target has done the print out of inventory for a while now in my area. Used it a few times. If they say that it has 1 in stock, be wary, that usually means its not. Most of the time i havent been able to find what i need when its inventory 1. If its more then you have a good chance.

I don't have blu-ray, and I don't go for gimmics, ie: Target exclusives, etc. So I was wondering if anyone can tell me if these 2 DVD versions closely resemble their respected blu-rays, content wise? If not, what version should I have gotten... (I know Target has like a half hour of exclusive stuff, but Target just irks me lol)
