i think the trick is to be patient, some of these sets get marked down and then go back up. on the last sale star trek season 3 was a good deal, now it's still price cut but at a higher price while season one was slashed down.

99% of the time they look pretty much new. the star trek season 3 set i bought on the last sale was pretty trashed, it looked like something had been spilled on it. i emailed them and they emailed a prepaid postage label and i sent it back, the replacement set should show up this week. i've ordered from them numerous times and been completely happy with condition.

I've never had a problem with the condition of an item from SecondSpin. Although, on my last order, they sent the regular cut, rather than the director's cut of a DVD I ordered. One e-mail, and they sent the correct version (well, I'll see when I get it), and didn't ask for the return of the incorrect one.

My only complaint is the slow shipping to Canada, but it's really not a big deal.

I've bought from them for years, and the condition is usually mint condition. They do put used stickers on the dvds, but they typically can peel off easily.

Either it sucks or it's awesome, I'm not sure what happened
My order included the tin of Akira, for which I was refunded--but my order status on the site and the e-mail they sent said Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is what didn't ship.

If the error is on the refund, I'm going to have to wrestle with my ethics to figure out if I should be a good boy and call them to tell them.
If the error is on the shipping I'll be mightily annoyed since that was the whole reason I MADE a second order (though it IS my fault, if I recall--you do get to choose, right, whether to cancel or send everything else?).

But it'd still be a pretty crap loss to miss out on the OOP title I picked :\

Going through the DVD's now to make sure everything is alright.

Some interesting things to note:

-The sent me the wrong DVD. Sent me "Contaminated Man" instead of Lucio Fulci's "Contamination". I'm still figuring out if I want to bother to exchange it.

-The Toxic Avenger DVD I bought is a Limited Edition (with seal on front). Inside is a insert signed and numbered by Lloyd Kaufman :)

Got a 25 pack of DVD cases from Staples today, so all the discs I got will look brand new.

Alas my one slightly damaged case from my prior order is a CLEAR keepcase--with 2 hubs (no swinging tray). Replacing that would be somewhat less than simple (and I'm obsessive compulsive and it's part of a series, so a black one with a swinging tray wouldn't work ;)

And honestly, a lot of Italian directors blend to me once I'm past Argento and maybe Fulci. I get the rest confused a lot. In horror, I mean. Not Leone or Bertolucci or something.

It could be that I might have seen it in a 2-Pack with a Fulci film in the past.

It also could be my brain just gone whack with the sheer amount of Fucli films that Blue Underground was releasing at that time.

I'm the same way. The shrink wrapping that Second Spin did on all these DVD's as well as the orange "Used" stickers on the top forced me to get replacement cases tonight. Lucky for me all of them are single black cases.

I do have a couple clear single cases in my collection that are shattered on the bottom, which hopefully I'll be replacing through Sleeve Town.

Fast shipping.but I got my Wiggles DVD without the CD's.:(
So I email that they should change their listing that these DVD/CD don't come with the CD's.As I think the CD came on the outside when bought new.
And I was happy with just the disc,will my 2 and 1/2 year-old was anyhow.

So I get a email back,saying they send out 2 CD's that were missing.
Anyways that what I thought it said.

Got 2 more wiggle DVD's from last week,no CD's.:-(
I guess if I email them again in the future,I better explain what the problem was better.
