The picture is of the 3-disc edition of Casino Royale (2006) that is coming out that week. The "40th Anniversary" should be removed, unless you mean "2nd Anniversary" -wink-

Good price on the set, considering it's going for $24.99 on Amazon right now and considering it includes Movie Money for QoS.

Thanks Speedy! Bram Stoker's Dracula for $6.99 sounds about right, although I wish they'd discount the two disc version of The Mist, so I could get that neat-o black and white edition. I had no plans on buying the new special edition of Casino Royale '08, but that free ticket knocks the price down to about five bucks, so it's tempting. I'm also surprised by how many gift cards they are offering with the various games. I guess the economy really is that bad...

The Peter Sellers Casino Royale is $12.99, and the poster was asking about the $14.99 edition, which is the Daniel Craig film, according to the images Speedy posted.

My "40th Anniversary" comment was directed at Speedy because both DVDs are marked as being "40th Anniversary" in the OP.

In any case, I think I'll be getting the CR 3-disc from CC unless BB has a lower price, which seems unlikely. Thanks Speedy!

Thanks Speedy! Looks like a busy week for me, I'll probably pick up a few $5 dvds and if that is the price for the 3-disc Casino Royale (craig) I'll get it. Also might get Wii Music here if BB doesn't have it cheaper.

Hahahaha.
They had the 40th anniv. NotLD in the 4.99 bin today and my heart leapt with mischievous joy as I argued the price (3 copies in there!)....and now it's going to be that price anyway. Oh well!
And Child's Play...which I was going to get from BB before, PMed to the website till they found the error, and now here it is. Silliness.

At least there's Feast (though I bought/returned it once before from Wal-Mart's dump bin...) and 30 Days of Night.
Otherwise kind of a usual disappointing set of horror movies I already own or don't want...

What does everyone think the chances are of getting 5 e-movie cash tickets with the purchase of an Ultimate Edition bond set? You are buying 5 Bond films, after all. Also, to a lesser extent, what do we think about getting 2 e-movie cash tickets with the 2 for $21 Bond Ultimate Editions? I'm interested in getting some Bond movies and I'm trying to scope out the best deal here!

cinemaphile
10-13-08, 03:03 AM
im sure you can score 2 tickets with the 2/$21, as you are buying two separate items.
But I'm almost 100% certain you wont get more than one with the box set. They'll just say if you want 5, you'll have to buy the 5 individually.

Ocelot

isn't the "free" movie ticket/voucher packed inside the cases?

mcfly

Yeah the e-tickets usually are stickers on the outside of the case and you need to put it online.. similar to the Tropic Thunder promo.

Looks like I'll have to hit up CC tomorrow for the Texas Chainsaw 2004 SE.

Bought a cheap copy off Ebay and the DVD trays are shattered.

CRFTony
10-20-08, 08:42 AM
I bought a bunch of the horror titles yesterday. My local CC only had about 1/2 of the advertised movies in the sale bins. Some, like Child's Play & 1408, were in the Halloween display and marked $9.99 when they were actually in sale for less. P2 was in the regular horror section and marked at full price, but rang up on sale. So don't be afraid to do a little hunting for the titles that you can't find in bins. The only ones I couldn't find at all were Pet Sematary and Children of the Corn.

cinemaphile
10-20-08, 11:52 AM
CC has always been the WORST for actually having sale titles in stock. So use these early ad posts the way i do:

I see speedy's posts, see what I want, and then go into CC a day or 2 before. I find the movies I want, and stash them elsewhere - you know, hide "Child's Play" in the middle of the Drama section or something. then i can go back any time after the ad starts and not have to be there at opening on sunday to get what i want! works every time!

of course, this method involves going there twice, but for me I live only like 5 minutes away. :D

HOSALE
10-20-08, 02:33 PM
I agree with cinemaphile, but instead of hiding the disks, just go ahead and buy them. You can always come back and price adjust. I usually buy the disks a week ahead of time and then come back when the lower ad prices are in effect and get the price adjusted with no problem.

cinemaphile
10-20-08, 02:38 PM
Is there a solid published price adjust policy at CC that they have to adhere to? I've considered doing it that way before, but I'm afraid I'll get some a-hole employee who won't do it for me, and I'll be out the additional $$.

...and do you bring in the discs or just the receipt?

yeah, thats the other alternative. just ignore CC and take their ad somewhere else where its not on sale (and therefore not in high demand) and price match it.

I guess it just depends on the retail place. I agree, I always have the hardest time at CC.

At one retail store I worked at, when there was product on sale for a weekly, we would get MORE of that product in the week before to prepare. I know a couple retail stores in particular that run like that.

Though there are some retail stores that run sales like the $4.99 one that don't get more of the product in, they are forced to just pull what they have for the sale.

at my local store they have it posted right behind the register. If you are worried about being out the money, don't open it. If they refuse...return it and then buy it again. that would be pretty ridiculous and unexpected tho, imo.

Did any of you guys find Silence of the Lambs for $4.99? Is it the collector's edition? Thank you.

it was at my local store, but they also put NotLD 40th in last week when it was supposed to be 90/Savini version...so...no telling if that was right.

I think the old MGM version is the one pictured in the ad.

If I'm not mistaken the Collector's Edition was on sale last week at CC for $7.49 (as stated by old end caps at my local CC)

My local CC didn't have many of the $4.99/6.99 titles left today. Though I was lucky I found the last copy of The Texas Chainsaw (2004) SE, to replace the busted one I got via Ebay early in the week.

Wonder if my local CC did that as well. I already have the Millennium disc but for $5, I would've picked up the new 40th. Didn't find any copies today.

This week it's *SUPPOSED* to be the 40th actually (which made my "but they were all in the 4.99!" last week hilariously pointless--though effective then).
I've got the Millennium disc, too--grabbed this at 4.99 last week tho for the same reason you'd consider it I imagine.

So: CC should have it OFFICIALLY at 4.99 this week. (http://entertainment.circuitcity.com/Movies/Movie.aspx?prodid=WENC81174DVD&store=Movies&si=ccity-prod&channel=b2c&partner=cc&catOid=-13219)
(as you can see if you click that link I put in)

Left the store dissappointed AGAIN. Went in to purchase THE STRANGERS, CASINO ROYALE (3-DISC) AND THE INCREDIBLE HULK (3-DISC) and the only title they had availible was THE STRANGERS.

True,I couldn't find anything I wanted from this $4.99 sale so I went to BB....

whenever they have sales like these, they do have a lot of copies actually, its just that by 1 pm, most people have already stopped by. I've been to circuit city on sundays real early then again when they are closing and the difference is night and day... basically when it comes to 4.99 titles go on Sunday in the morning or you're gonna be out of luck.

I don't know why I still buy from these guys. Yesterday my wife & I made a quick stop for the TDK DVD+R spindle on sale this week. No cashier lines were open so I went to the Gestapo customer service. A ten buck purchase and I needed to flash a photo ID along with my credit card...both of which were examined very closely. I asked if they'd had an increase in fraud lately, and he responded "I'm the Manager and it's My Policy." Hey, no argument. But try a friendly smile, dude. This store (#3139-Minnetonka, MN.) serves upscale zip codes on the Twin Cities' west side...not the inner city. Fortunately there's a Best Buy within spitting distance.

I made sure to fill out the online "Customer First" survey accurately.
It be a kick if I won a $1,000 gift card.
