I honestly can't remember there being this many TV shows being discussed each week on this forum. I know i seem to have more shows to watch each week than previous years.

Is this previous scripted tv shows have made a comeback against reality tv shows ?

More like Scripted TV has made a comeback against the summer hiatus and the writer's strike.

Scripted TV never went anywhere, dramas at any rate. Comedies save for a few, still seem to be on life support. I think reality shows have just been the media darlings for the past few years.

Yeah it sure seems that way. I've noticed that Morning Shows spend a huge chunk of their broadcasts pimping Reality shows from all the over the networks. They treat the latest dish on what happened the night before and what's coming up like news reports.

I think people would rather post about some random new show, love it or hate it, then go over the same old same old we are getting from Reality TV right now.

Once you get into a few seasons the Reality tv shows really are all the same.. Great, some fat guy lost some weight on that show with all the other fat people. Did someone fall into some mud on Survivor!? Hey who is going to get voted off, for the elimination number 10billion or whatever it is now? Did you see that C grade star dance sort of ok? Some stick looking model got kicked off some modle show, she cried. etc etc etc

It's fine if one wants to watch that stuff but it just does not tend to lend itself to rants as much as say "OMFG Heroes sucks this season!!" does. lol

I don't think they have either. With Suvivor, Dancing with the stars and all the other game shows winning the ratings, I hate to say they are still winning out.

That really bugs me when they do that. It's a fucking game show, people.

What's next, giving pro wrasslin' results during the sports segment?

Lol, Sports are reality TV.

The only way that scripted TV has fought back is with episodic procedurals and dramedies. The serious arc based drama has been replaced by the dramedy (Desperate Houswives, Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, Brothers & Sisters, The Ex List, Ugly Betty, Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone).

Unfortunately, I prefer serious drama. Friday Night Lights is one of the few serious arc based dramas left.

Sounds like you need cable: Mad Men, The Shield, Damages, Sons of Anarchy -- to name a few off the top.
