Bizarre and nonsensical--and non horror :(--$4 display at Walmart

I scoured the thing but it was covered mostly in things I owned or had no interest in. It was a really weird mix of things, and here's my best attempt at memory:

King Kong 1976 (OK, I did get this...)
Collateral
Blades of Glory
Nacho Libre
Red Eye
Congo
The Thing Called Love (director's cut)
Trading Places (ooh...I didn't think to look, but I'm pretty sure it was the original release anyway)

Many FS only titles. I didn't pay close attention, sorry :S

I should've taken a picture with my phone but didn't think about it.
Er, anyway, as you can see, a pretty bizarre mix. All paramount titles, I believe.

hmmm... is this one of those 4-sided displays with a large selection of titles like they have had previously? or is it just part of their e-pod which is just that small section in their department? will have to check out my local WM to see if there's any finds. thanks for the heads up!

BLADES OF GLORY???? Are you fucking KIDDING me????

(Somewhat obscure reference- might've played better if we were talking about HD-DVDs, but couldn't resist nonetheless.)

I stopped by a Wally today and they had two seasons of NYPD Blue sslotted in the bottom row of the Halloween display. Zombies, ghosts, and Dennis Franz's ass - it makes sense to me.

So it's basically a 'whatever we have and can't get rid of' sale.

These things do come in bunches. For every few good years of horror releases, occasionally you get a crappy one.

Yeah, that's the display.

And yes, it's a cardboard one, not permanent shelving.

No $4 display yet at my local Wal-mart. Not that I'd purchase anything, but I'd definitely give it a look.

Same here. I'll give it a look, and may pick up Blades of Glory if it gets on the rack. I saw a $15 tv on dvd rack here though, with 3 seasons of Arrested Development, How I Met Your Mother Season 1, my name is earl, and a few other stuff. I'll go back and check it out, and pick up AD seasons.

$4 display hasn't show up yet here either. but they did have the $15 season sets. my WM also had buffy s1-4, reba s1-4, and a couple of south park seasons included.

Well, I had fun looking at all the titles. For those people(like me!), that haunt Big Lots looking for the next big wave of titles this was cool...even at $4.00 each at Wal-Mart instead of $3.00 Anyway, I picked up-

Scrooged (Bill Murray)
Black Sheep (Chris Farley)
Days of Thunder (Mr. Cruise)
King Kong (Jessica Lange)

Also remember seeing Congo/Rat Race/Tomb Raider movies...

I swung by today and picked up King Kong. I considered getting Blades of Glory and Dreamgirls as blind buys, but took a pass. A few more I spotted:

Charlotte's Web 2 (animated)
Domestic Disturbance
An Officer and a Gentleman (first pressing)
Mission Impossibe III (FS)
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (FS)
The Ring (FS)
The Island
Bad News Bears (remake)

Went to a different Wally today and they had the display out. Picked up Blades of Glory and Collateral (2-Disc) both in widescreen. From what I remember they also had:

(May be repeats, sorry)
Collateral (2-Disc)
Blades of Glory
Manchurian Candidate
Paycheck
Win A Date With Tad Hamilton
Wild Thornberry's Movie
Charlotte's Web
Charlotte's Web 2
Yours, Mine & Ours
Dreamgirls
Freedom Writers
The Ring
The Ring 2
World Trade Center
The Island

That's all I can remember for now.

Yep, and is widescreen enhanced, my receipt gives a barcode# of 009736320544. The display seemed pretty much full when I was there but some titles were much more heavily stocked then others though. I saw plenty of copies of "Yours, Mine & Ours(the re-make, not the original 1968 one). Didn't see any copies of the previously reported "An Officer and a Gentleman" at my location. They had 3 copies of King Kong(1976) and then only 2 left after I bought mine.

I almost picked up Scrooged but then i remembered a few years ago that there was supposed to be an SE for the movie but it was apparently cancelled. Is there a possibly this might still be released? Or should i just go for this disc? For $4 it wouldn't hurt.

I went back for Scrooged, but they didn't have any copies at my store. I did see a few more in the display that haven't been mentioned here:

Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson
Along Came a Spider
Kiss the Girls
Twice Upon a Christmas (TV Movie with Kathy Ireland)
Get Rich Or Die Tryin'
The House Without a Christmas Tree

I haven't seen Scrooged anywhere, went somewhere else today and the only thing I saw new was The Perfect Score (WS).
