A research scientist is discovered frozen solid, and the ensuing murder probe points to an animal-rights group. Elsewhere, Ted asks Crews for a business-school referral.
Another new episode will air this Friday and that's where it's staying the rest of the season. It's only week 2 and four episodes will have aired.

I liked this better than Friday's, but still very little of the good stuff and too much side story junk. So there was 6, now there's 5, and "they" are threatening to do away with old man Reese? Was #6 what's his face that's in prison now? Seeing Reese threatened was an interesting development, and I guess it's probably only a matter of time until he starts working with Crews.
Hopefully this survives long enough to replace My Own Worst Enemy after its inevitable cancellation so it can be a Monday night fixture instead of Friday...although I'm not sure going head to head with CSI Miami and Boston Legal will be any better for the show's ratings than Friday night. :(

I was thinking the officer that worked the Crews case and died last season was number 6. Is Crews former lawyer and current DA trying to protect him by not admitting the connection with Reese and the killer?

I'm glad they finally showed Reese asking her dad about Crews.
Sarah Shari was really good this ep.

while the T1000 thing was funny, I don't buy it
the guy had hours to warm up, I could see him still being frozen, but not that brittle

The murder was stupid on so many levels.
The physics were wrong from a to z. From replacing the tanks, to the delivery method, to what the actual results would be, and of course the bad CGI shattering result.
The lab assistant's motivation was complete nonsense, for both killing the doc and destroying the control rats.
The smoking gun was her hand written calculations for how much liquid nitrogen to use to kill a man of the doc's height and weight. First, I don't see the need to calculate it out in the first place. Second, she must be a real shitty tech because she obviously used way more than she needed. Third, how/why did the janitor take it? Apparently you needed to be a scientist just to figure out what it was.
All that said I liked quite a bit of this. The regulars were all good and had some good scenes. I also liked the animal rights guy and girl. The drug tripping and the monkey were kind of amusing but a little gimmicky.

I was so perplexed by the awfulness of this episode that I totally missed the resolution to the case. I guess the jim shoes and monkey lovin' just threw me off. This show needs to get back on track -- these silly murder mysteries should be a mere backdrop to the real storyline.

I agree with you that the murder stories are silly, but I have to admit... Damian Lewis/Crewes makes them work..... For now.

I have no complaints. For me this show is about Crews - nothing more.
I enjoy the character so much that an interesting storyline is just a bonus

Only 10 comments? I guess since the scheduling has really been whacked I assume some of you didn't know this on or this is still sitting on your DVR.
I thought this episode was good, not great. The part when Charlie broke the frozen scientist was kind of funny.
I agree Sarah Shahi was really good in this episode. The scene where she just blurted out to her Dad..."Did you send an innocent man to prison?" was good. I thought the scene afterwards with her hair getting stuck was weird. I was like...WTF?
I think this was the 1st time I ever saw Marsha Thomason, the lab assistant, speak with an American accent.

Just getting around to catching up. I agree the police plot for the episode was rather weak.
I will admint scenes like Crews asking his Ex's husband if he can sleep with her seem out of character. That said, it was rather sexy (?) when he was seeing her all over the place.
I do like some of the comic relief this show continues to bring when you aren't expecting it. I also continue to think the new boss is bringing some much needed character depth.
