Real bright, baseball. Putting Phillies-Brewers game 4 at 1 PM -- not just that they're putting it up against the NFL, but they're putting it up directly against Packers and Eagles home games. At least they should've put Chicago-Tampa on at 1 (Bucs play at 4 and the Bears game is away) and then Phillies-Brewers at 4.

It's just so irritating to see clubs doing this silly shit. If you've got good fans, no need for artificial noise.
Hey, I remember this version of Jeff Suppan. With the way the Brewers are hitting, this should just about do it.

Honestly, I understand that you don't want to risk Gallardo going on short rest, but I'm not really sure why you don't go Gallardo starting with Suppan, et all in the pen. Just keep him on a short leash. If he can throw 3 when it's essentially out of hand, it certainly seems like a better option than rolling the dice on Suppan for a must-win.
Or don't walk Howard and throw a BP pitch to the guy who owns you. Either way.

Funny thing is I work with a couple Cubs fans who seemed mad that the Sox beat the Twins last Tuesday. I think they wanted the postseason to themselves.
Hopefully Floyd not having pitched in a week isn't a bad thing. If we win tomorrow I think we have to go back to Buerhle on Wednesday - screw Vazquez's fragile psyche.

I'd be shocked if we see Vasquez again. If we make it out of this round, I expect to see Richard.
I can see Vasquez coming in in relief if the Sox are up or down by 10.

I actually thought it was funny. It was original.
It's a sad fact that most SoCal fans do arrive late, leave early, and don't cheer unless they're ahead or about to score.
I always thought that whenever the Yankees or BoSox came to town, they had a ton of fans because you could hear the cheers in the stadium. I later realized it wasn't the fact they had tons of fans, it was the fact that the Angels fans were sitting on their hands.

Piazza was in the booth before the last Mets game, and he was talking about how when he went to SD after leaving NY, he was amazed at how the fans reacted-- he was telling the story of how he had a curtain call worthy day in SD (hit 2 HRs or something, I don't remember exactly what he did, but it was a big day), but was surprised when that when he went into the dugout after touching the plate, that was it. Nothing more from the fans.

Game 2 was pretty good even though we lost that one.
I'm just getting tired of the Angels leaving guys on base, it has killed them in this series. Also, the two out runs we're giving up is getting a little ridiculous. To top it off, we're making too many defensive mistakes. This series could easily have been a 3-0 sweep for the Angels.

Yup. That ump should be fired, publicly. It is bad when an ump makes it personal during a regular season game, but this was an elimination game. There is no room for officials to have egos here. That called third strike was an obvious ball.
I'm not saying it cost them the game, but it would have given them 2 outs with RISP.
