"I Dream of Jesus"
When Peter re-discovers his love for the painfully annoying yet seductively catchy tune The Bird's the Word, Brian and Stewie decide to take matters into their own hands to ensure that the song will never be heard again! On the verge of tears, Peter goes to every record store in Quahog to track down his beloved jingle, and he runs into a familiar face and ends up hanging out with Paris Hilton and Perez Hilton.

Apparently, the birds the word.

I need to watch Office Space again.

This episode was hit and miss for me. I loved everything involving Peter and Surfin' Bird, but the Jesus bit got kinda tired after a while.

Don't bother with Office Space because of this. (would have been more relevant with the "damn, it feels good to be a gangster" wording).

For whatever reason, I thought the episode was horrible, but yet I laughed several times.

Just saying, I feel like watching Office Space again.

Episode felt like something out of season 1 which more or less isn't a compliment, but it was better than that piece of shit last week.

For me, I thought the first segment was probably the funniest 10 minutes of Family Guy ever - the whole Surfin' Bird thing with Peter just killed me for some reason. The rest of the episode however, meh...

I laughed pretty hard when Stewie put the gun in his mouth. The Jesus plot was pretty lame, though.

My thoughts exactly. Thought the beginning was really funny, but the Jesus stuff wasn't that great. Though I can't get Sufin Bird out of my head. I'm downloading it right now.

Also, maybe it's just me, but thus far this season it really has not felt like it has had half as many cut aways as there normally are. The Marley Matlin one was funny (though the references to 300 and Last Mimzy makes me think this epsiode was made awhile ago), but there were way too few in this episode I at least thought.

Completely agree!

I had no idea that the bird is the word.

In the majority here, the Jesus stuff was okay but the bird song was very funny. Especially when Peter is screaming it at the audience.

Peter setting up everyone so he could segue into the song was hilarious.

I especially loved when Peter got to the middle of the song and Brian thought he had a stroke.

The Jesus storyline felt tacked on. The whole Surfin' Bird bit had me in stitches.

By the way, when Brian & Stewie were destroying the record with a bat, what movie was being referenced?

From what I was able to tell, Office Space:

This episode definitely had a writer's strike feel to me, and I think making fun of Jesus has gotten kinda tired. How about a Muhammad episode, Family Guy writers?

I agree with everyone else. The "Bird is the word" stuff was really good. The Jesus stuff was pretty bad.

Loved the scene I referenced above (with peter trying to get Brian to ask what the word was - "i was expecting news of an ornithological variety..." - and Stewie trying to stop it), as well as when Peter was singing in bed and turned on the lights, and he was face-to-face with Lois.

The Bird is the word stuff was top notch, classic Family Guy. The Jesus stuff was horrible, I turned it off about half way through.

I thought for sure they were gonna do the Surfin Bird gag for the whole ep. Annoying but hilarious. I would've preferred that more than the Jesus thing.

I ended up watching this on Hulu and agree with everyone about not really liking the Jesus plotline. But now...bird is definitely the word in my head!

Thought a few of the Jesus bits were good, like the part about bringing River Phoenix back to life only to have him OD again. And also Peter telling Lois exactly how he knew that Jesus was looking at his cell and then sending it to voicemail when Peter called.

I loved last week's episode but this one just wasn't that funny. Surfin' Bird was only funny when Stewie interacted in the scene, "Brian, Don't", putting the pistol in his mouth, and "Crap!"

The Jesus storyline wasn't that good but I did get a laugh at the dinner table scene:
Meg: "I love you, Jesus"
Jesus: " Ah, I love you too, fella."

yeah, the jesus stuff was definitely the weaker part of the plot. i love how family guy can make something funny, beat it to death and make it unfunny, and keep using it until it's funny again.

Surfin Bird stuff was great. Jesus stuff could have been funnier. My wife said she has never heard that song which struck me as strange.

I also liked the cell phone message thing, but that could be used in any episode. Who doesn't know that, or has thought about it before? "if it picks up immediately, that means his phone is off. If it picks up after 4 rings, that means he couldn't get to the phone. If it picks up after 2 rings, it means he's screening the call!"

This episode was funny, but really got on my nerves after awhile. The Jesus Christ stuff was kind of lame. However, I did like the Jay Leno parody.

I was LMAO when Stewie had the nose bleed.

I began to fast forward after the "Are you Jesus Christ" line. And then I picked it back up after Jesus goes to jail, and announces he'll come back when he's more mature.

"Well that's a pretty mature thing to say right there."

Honestly, had they simply gone with the Trashmen as being the focal point of the show, it may very well have been the funniest episode of Family Guy in the history of the show.

My Comcast guide said this was a "NEW" episode for some reason and the DVR recorded it, even though I recognized the title and description of the episode.
