Aki Kaurismäki collection Vol. 1 -3: pic quality?
I was wondering if anyone has these (they're available on amazon.co.uk) and can comment on the picture quality and the overall presentation of the films. Volume 1 is the equivalent of the criterion eclipse series (in movie content anyway), which I already have, but vol. 2 + 3 aren't available.
I'm not familiar with the studio (artificial eye), are they known to be good or crappy?

I have the Leningrad Cowboys Collection. Great quality on picture and sound. www.dvdbeaver.com has some of the sets from AE reviewed. Good Stuff!

Artificial Eye generally uses other companies' masters, so their transfers depend on those depend on the material, and since they usually manage to get good material, especially for more recent discs. As one can see from the Beaver reviews, these discs are quite good.
