Can't wait. Walked in expecting this to suck (IIRC I deemed the trailer to look like Uwe Boll's Hard Boiled), was FLOORED by the fact that I really, really dug it. Along with Shoot 'Em Up the most fun I've had with the action genre since Kill Bill. A must-have, especially since I want to prove to my friends that it didn't suck.

EDIT: I just found my original post and I was comparing it to Uwe Boll's Remo Williams...far worse of an idea.

I didn't like this movie but I suppose this is going to be a nice Blu-ray release for it's fans. Timur Bekmambetov's hyper-kinetic visual style should translate well for the format.

I noticed a lot of digital blurring when I saw it in theaters, sort of a way to cut corners with special effects. I hope it was just my print, but that has me worried for the pending Blu-release.

That said, I also enjoyed this movie. It lags a little in the middle but was a fun ride.

Is there not an unrated version with more violence? I kinda figured that was a given with this release.

Yeah I figured there would be an unrated version as well. Oh well, not a big deal, the movie didn't really need anything else added to it.

I sort of hated this one theatrically but I'll give it a second shot on blu-ray. I hated Doomsday the first time around and really enjoyed it on disc, since this is in a similar vein and now my expectations are lowered, I'll probably pick this up.

Checked the brain at the door when I saw it at the theater and found it entertaining, but not a classic. A couple of the stunt scenes were incredible and I eagerly await what Timur Bekmambetov directs next.

I'll buy it on release day, but am unsure whether it will be the dvd or blu-ray.

Nice. Angie looks a little 'off' on that cover art though. Actually both look like their heads were photoshopped onto someone else's body.

So what's the word on the $70 set that was announced a while back?

Nice. Question is, is any of that really worth $70 bones? What's the white thing on the right with the 'goodbye' bullet on it? The acrylic case looks sweet if that is what it is and not some cheap flimsy plastic cover like you get on standard DVDs.

*edit - looks like it's only $50 on Amazon for pre-order.

I'm thinking about going for that Collector's Edition. It looks really nice and mostly because the regular cover art is effing awful.

Cover art is blindingly bad, hopefully the case is the poster art underneath.

Dammit. I didn't want to pull the trigger yet, but I think I might have to at that price. I can always cancel later(yeah, like that's gonna happen).

I imagine there are others, but these were the ones I have read on the sites I typically frequent.

Dammit I must hold firm on my "no buying useless CEs", but the packaging is pretty cool, and I loved this movie.

Thanks. Unfortunately none mention the SE packaging.

I'm very curious about it and whether or not it's worth the extra $17 or so dollars. It looks it from the photo but oftentimes they are very misleading. What looks like a clear acrylic housing could indeed be a flimsy slipcover, as I mentioned above.

i want the CE so bad... but man, $45... more or less the price i'm reserving for TDK Steelbook BD. Too bad that it can't ordered with the 25% DD coupon, otherwise, problem already solved...

I'm happy with the slip case version I own. Not spending $45 for a book and some film cells.
