My brother has a GoW PSP that isn't functioning properly anymore.
I decided I would try and find a fix before he put it up for sale on eBay or what-not.

From what I can tell everything seems to be functioning properly except the screen is always black. It doesn't seem to turn on at all.
You can hear the scrolling of the menus and you can hear the system start, you can't see anything, though.

Prior to this happening, my brother was downloading a lot of music and themes onto the PSP, which makes me think that he probably got some sort of virus on it.

Any one have any idea if this has a fix? Does anyone know how much a bricked PSP go for?

he could have the contrast/brightness turned all the way up (or down)

Does he still have the receipt? The psp should come with a one year warranty and the GoW PSP wasn't released until this summer, so he should be well within the limit.

I doubt it's contrast/brightness, but I'll check. Thanks!

He still does have the receipt; ordered it from Amazon. Does Sony allow bricked PSPs to be serviced (if they were bricked due to viruses and such)?

I don't know. But if it's from normal download use, then they should.

No. I don't think he knows enough to run that kind of stuff on there.
Thanks for the help, guys. I'm going to start the warranty process in hope of getting it fixed.
