The Mentalist -- "Red Hair and Silver Tape" -- 9/30/08

Photobucket

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

The team probes the murder of a waitress in Napa Valley, but Patrick opts to conduct his own private investigation, using Grace as bait. Sheriff McAllister: Xander Berkeley. Malcolm Boatwright: Eric Stonestreet. Sandra Boatwright: Judith Hoag.

I was really surprised at how much I liked the Pilot. Hopefully Week 2 will be good as well.

Crap, I'm going to have to catch this on a replay or online. My 9:00 slot is full.

What did you guys think of the episode? I thought it was better than the pilot and I'm liking the main character more and more.

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

I'm starting to see a trend with Patrick following his intuition and getting himself into situations that are tough getting out of. I'm sure they're leading to a situation where he won't be able to get out of.

And the whole Red John thing, I think Patrick feels mentally threatened by Red John and will most likely lose his cool when he comes face to face with him.

Since I don't think this needs a new thread and I don't want to revive the pilot thread, here's some cool news:

Michael Ausiello is reporting that CBS ordered 6 more scripts. A back 9 order is expected very soon.

BTW, I missed this episode because my Tivo got stuck one of it's tuners. It's not available online anywhere. GRRRRRR!

Are we talking about the same show?
Because I thought the pilot was just okay and the second episode was
horrible!
No more for me!

Oh well... different strokes....

CBS ordered a full season on Wednesday.

BTW, I managed to catch this episode on CBS.com as they have now posted episodes of this series. Thought this was a good episode.

Seems like interest is low in this forum as with most procedural dramas.

They need to mix up the formula a bit

From the pilot, i thought the pursuit of red john would be the main storyline

They need to move away from having a murder, obvious suspects who don't end up being the murderer and others who do.
