I guess it's a B&M shop/site here in the US. A guy from India was wanting me to help him get something from them but I just wanted to make sure they were reliable first.

No, stay far far away from them. I pre-ordered (more than once this has happened, but this last one was the last stray & by far the worst experience I had with them) a DVD & they never got it in. I kept e-mailing them & got no answer. 2 months past the release date goes by & still no answer to my requests asking them to cancel the order at that point. I had to contact the BBB to get them to respond & cancel the order. Epinions & Bizrate has folks reporting similar problems. Long waits on items supposedly in stock or pre-orders never being fulfilled.

My experience with Family Video is quite a bit different. All of my orders have been fulfilled in a timely manner, including obvious misprices. They just shipped out The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Blu-Ray for $9 that streets tomorrow. The only 2 points of concern for me is that they mail in padded envelopes(not very protective, but I never got a damaged item despite this packaging) and they do charge your card at the time you place the order(even if it's a pre-order).

I've ordered several products from them. They are shipped quickly, with competitive pricing, and good customer service. The packaging isn't great, but I've never had a disc come damaged or other problems of that nature. I can recommend them.

The padded envelopes haven't led to damaged product for me. I've placed many orders with them (especially during the heady days of their $5 off of $5 coupon), without any complaints.

thanks for all of the replies. i created an account but unfortunately the price has increased...or has been corrected I should say. my friend wanted the Blu ray version of Journey to the center of the earth with the 3d glasses. when he saw it, it was marked as $9.99 but I was too late :(
