In case there is a debate, let's discuss it here, OK?

The time: 26 September 2008 - 2100 EDT
The place: Gertrude C. Ford Center in Oxford, Mississippi, on the campus of the University of Mississippi
The moderator: Jim Lehrer (PBS)

http://www.olemiss.edu/debate/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election_debates,_2008

And I thought I'd throw this in:

Oxford Town, Oxford Town
Ev'rybody's got their heads bowed down
The sun don't shine above the ground
Ain't a-goin' down to Oxford Town

He went down to Oxford Town
Guns and clubs followed him down
All because his face was brown
Better get away from Oxford Town

Oxford Town around the bend
He come in to the door, he couldn't get in
All because of the color of his skin
What do you think about that, my frien'?

Me and my gal, my gal's son
We got met with a tear gas bomb
I don't even know why we come
Goin' back where we come from

Oxford Town in the afternoon
Ev'rybody singin' a sorrowful tune
Two men died 'neath the Mississippi moon
Somebody better investigate soon

Oxford Town, Oxford Town
Ev'rybody's got their heads bowed down
The sun don't shine above the ground
Ain't a-goin' down to Oxford Town

Thread title is wrong. A certain word needs to be in " ".

I'm surprised that we haven't heard claims that Obama and McCain are the greatest debaters since Lincoln and Douglas from each of the opposing campaigns yet.

Well I expect our Obama fans in the forum to think that about Obama. ;)

I'm referring to the age-old practice of inflating the debating skills of the opponent to create high expectations of your opponent (and lower expectations for your own guy).

Oh, and I don't think anyone listening can be happy about Obama's constant, "I need more money" answers.

The government has enough of our money. They need to learn to BUDGET. If I can't buy all the things I want, I don't go to my boss and say, "Hey, uh, I need more money, so give me a raise, or I'll send you to jail."
