Safeway and affiliated stores like Dominicks, Vons, Randalls, Genuardi and affiliated stores have buy $40 in home care products in a single transaction. and get Iron Man DVD. They are specific products like Bounty paper towels, Duracell, Kleenex Reynolds foil and others. List available in store. Valid 9/21-10/6

so if i buy 4 months worth of toliet paper i get a free DVD, that actually might be worth it ;)

Looks like it's the single disc they're giving away; not worth it for that IMO.

as long as it's widescreen i only really need the movie, commentary and deleted scenes are nice but not really important to me. plus i would only buy things i normally use (like toliet paper) so it would essentially be free. ;)

just an update with more info. i went to dominicks today and looked all around, when i couldn't find any info i went to customer service. they said that the start date was a marketing mistake and that the promo actually starts on the 30th and they will have a full list of qualifying products then (he did realize that that is tomorrow). he also said that the disc will be given at the time of purchase.

i'll probably check either tomorrow or the next day, if i find out anything new i'll report that. i would guess that this is going to be a "while supplies last" type of thing so you might want to check your local store quickly.

Well....can anyone confirm if they're giving out the 1 disc or 2 disc set? I'm a huge sucker for special features and will not go into this if they're giving out the 1 disc set. I know, it starts tomorrow (obviously).

"Retail value 19.99" sounds like a dead giveaway (er, sorry) single disc.

I know. I'm just...an optimist or something.

ok, some more updates.

it is the single disc version.

the store signage is very vague, but this could be an advantage. i talked to customer service and after much looking around they did find a master list, however the shelf tags didn't specifiy products only brands. what i would do is take a copy of the ad in with you, buy what you need from the brands marked (but not worrying about specific products) and when you get to the register point out the promo to the cashier. he is going to say that a coupon should spit out after the purchase, if/when it doesn't (it didn't for me) he will tell you to go to customer service and then they will give you the DVD. at least that is how it worked for me. i would also suggest not going at a busy time when management is being pulled in six directions at once. ;-)

it took a little work, but i didn't buy anything special and i got a free DVD :D

good luck!

Ugh....so much for the free DVD that I don't want. Guess I'll have to pay $22. *sigh*
