So the Yankees are done. Oh well, it was a good run while it lasted. Hopefully they'll come back healthy and strong next year.

As for now it would be nice to see them finish the season on a positive note. They're currently on a useless 7 game win streak. It would be nice for them to go into Boston and play spoiler. Make them take the wild card and play the Angels in Anaheim in the first round, which I'm sure they do not want to do.

That would be why. Minnesota plays Kansas City, the White Sox play Cleveland. Minnesota has the easier road, hence the higher POFF chances.

I heard KC won't start Greinke, their best pitcher. If true I'm sure the Twins will sweep that series too with the current momentum and their home record.

So if that happens, basically White Sox would have sweep Cleveland, then win the makeup game against Detroit, and then play a playoff game against MN. All with largely silent bats. Yeah right.

KC has won 8 of 10 and Cleveland has won 7 of 10, so both are pretty hot. I also heard Lee might not start for Cleveland (Wedge said he would try to if the game matters). I wouldn't take Hawk too seriously if I were you. Regardless, I don't think it is a cake walk for either team at this point. I'll gladly take the sweep of KC though.

If KC can come in tomorrow and take the first game maybe that will finally motivate the White Sox. We've typically won our first game home after our numerous bad road trips.

A couple of days ago I was critical of Lou Piniella (and other managers who do likewise), for resting all his best players after clinching, depriving fans who bought tickets to a major league game a chance to see their favorite players in action.

For tonight's Dodgers game, Torre used a regular lineup, then pulled his starters out after each had a chance to bat a couple of times. A much better way to handle things if you ask me.

According to Cleveland's website, they don't want to pitch him because he felt a "twing." He hasn't exactly been a stud his last few starts anyway, I'd be more worried about their surging offense.

Twins catch a break if Grienke doesn't pitch, but they still have to face Meche, who is no slouch. KC has played the spoiler to perfection before, and the Twins will be hard-pressed to match the intensity of the last three nights.

Another strike against the Twins - they'll have Glen "Batting Practice" Perkins on the mound. He's been awful.

Though it sounds like Ozzie will throw out three guys on three days rest for Cleveland. That could backfire in a major way.
