These threads never get much action but I love these reissues.

I'll add a poll and maybe that will get some conversation going. Everybody loves a poll! Thats sounds bad.

from Matador (http://www.matadorrecords.com/matablog/?p=2546):

November 18 will see the release of Mark IV in our series of deluxe reissues of the original Pavement albums. Brighten The Corners: Nicene Creedence Ed. sports the amazing packaging and deep contents that you’ve seen in our previous three deluxe editions. Like the first three editions, released every 2 years since 2000, this package treats Pavement’s fourth album right, with two CDs containing the entire 1997 record, remastered from the original tapes, plus all the B-sides and compilation tracks from that period, and a plethora of unreleased live and studio tracks as enumerated below. The CDs come in an embossed slipcase with a 62-page perfect-bound book containing photos, ephemera, writings and more. (The record will be out on Domino in Europe and Matador everywhere else.)

Matador will be doing a Buy Early Get Now promotion for this record, and the extras will be very special indeed. We’ll be announcing that shortly, so keep your eyes on this space.

Everyone always gives S&E the nod, but for me it's all about Crooked Rain, so many great songs on there, classic Pavement.

I've been enjoying Malkmus' latest "Real Emotional Trash" too, it's got some hilarious "out there" lyrics as well as some cool improv song structures, a very loose affair.

i voted for slanted and enchanted, but i would consider westing (by musket and sextant) my favorite pavement album (even though it is a compilation of EPs).

Sweeet! And I have to note that BTC is my personal favorite Pavement album. It's the first of theirs I'd really listened to and it has a lot of personal significance for me so even though I love all their albums, this is the one that hits home the most for me. I've been dying for the 2-CD set of it. Thanks for the link!

Excellent. The first 3 reissues were fantastic; can't wait for this one.

I voted for CR CR, though it's a close 3-way battle between it, S&E, and WZ.

Slanted and Enchanted for me. I remember buying that on vinyl as well as CD to get the bonus "Trigger Cut" 7-inch single. After that they got a bit too commercial for my taste. The Westing compilation of early stuff is great as well.

this was my favorite album by these guys. I love type slowly, shady lane, transport and embassy row. I haven't picked up any of the deluxe reissues yet, so I may start with this one.

I find it hard to judge the original albums since the deluxe reissues came out. Wowee Zowee was probably my favorite album but it was the weakest reissue. S&E reissue collected and cleaned up a bunch of stuff that collectors already had in a great package, but the CRCR reissue added so much unheard stuff - hard choice.

Voted Wowee Zowee. Reissue seems like a must buy even if I already have most of the b-sides. Harness Your Hopes is one of my favorite non-album tracks.

Voted CR,CR.

And these reissues have been absolutely fantastic.
