Finally I can retire my broadcast-to-beta-to-vhs-to-divx copies!
And no, they didn't finish the arc in the 16 finished episodes. Rumor was that another 8 eps were planned, and at least 2 unfilmed episode synopses exist.

I only know of this show because its creator, Harlan Ellison, officially disowned it and had his named removed from the series during production. His original script for the pilot (not what was filmed) won a WGA award for best original Episodic-Dramatic screenplay.

There is a novelization of the pilot, written by Ed Bryant called Phoenix Without Ashes. It's based on Ellison's screenplay. It's not bad, but the real reason to read it is the introduction by Ellison that talks about the fiasco he went through working on the series. I'm buying the series out of curiousity probably.

As far as Ellison disowning it, has Ellison ever liked any TV adaptations of his work (even the ones he allowed his name used on)? I can't think of any (except maybe one of his 1980s Twilight Zones).

He likes the original Outer Limits episodes, as well as the 1980s Twilight Zone eps. I think he liked the episode he wrote for Masters of Sci-Fi.
