Darren McFadden. You'll frequently see this "hometown boy done good" effect. Brett Favre's Packers were a staple on Mississippi television for years, so expect to see a lot of unexpected Jets games there this year.
That might also explain the interest in the Cleveland-Baltimore game in Banff.... lots of slow lumbering animals up there.

As a Cowboys fan this is all gravy. We get to go to Lambeau on a Sunday night. Doesn't get much better than this does it? Except for the Eagle game classic last Monday. The obvious top rated NFC teams are:
Dallas
Philly
Da Giants.
And now we go see what Aaron Rodgers can bring. If GB wants to be one of the top teams lets go see what they got. Honestly McNabb looked as good as he has ever looked. Making Philly a serious threat. But as players get older the injuries get easier. Hopefully he can stay healthy and this can easily be the best Division in football.
As a football fan of course you want your team to run away with the Division. But realistically the stronger your Division the stronger your team will be in the long run. Alot of the Giants success last year came from all those Cowboy, Eagles and Redskin games. They were weighed and measured all season long. Damn we do not get the Giants until week #9.
Look forward to the D representing themselves better. Hope we do not have that 6 day backlash after facing Johnson and the Eagles D. Hope we can pressure Rodgers and get some errors. And make this game ours early and just wind the clock on 'em. Still 3 damn days away.

I'm an NFC East guy too, but I wouldn't be so fast to say those are obviously the 3 best NFC teams, particuarly only 2 games in. There's a little team down in Carolina that is 2-0 and traveled 3,000 miles to beat a good SD team. And now that team gets their biggest offensive weapon back.

Considering the first time it was really hot, half the fans ended up watching the game from the concourses and club areas on TVs instead of the seats, they learned that keeping it closed during hot weather is the only way to go. People try to get away from the heat around here during the summer, not pay big bucks to sit in it.

Spicollidriver1
09-20-08, 10:14 PM
We get 105 and 100% humidity here it's not a cliche there is a significant difference between dry heat and humid heat. Texas is hot for longer. I know many families from texas that moved up here, and they have told me many times that during the summer they would rather be in Texas. But ours only lasts a few months so that is the real difference. I'm just repeating people from there have said to me. I'll take your winter any day over ours. I've always thought colder is better because you can always put on more clothes whereas you can only get so naked. But speaking as a fan with a team in a dome I long for an outdoor game. Big win by the Skins to go to 2-1 and basically hold serve in a tough start to the schedule - they've got their 2nd and 3rd road division (toughest division in the NFL) games the next 2 weeks, so it was critical to win these first 2 home games.
Campbell had a steady game and except for the one bomb (thank you, Fitz, on my fantasy team), their defense played pretty well against a good Zona offense.

You're forgetting how many guys wouldn't even interview for the job last time. Davis got a ton of rejections. Coaches aren't stupid. Who wants to take a head coaching job if you know the odds are 50/50 that you'll be fired after your first season?
Davis wants to see his team in the Super Bowl one more time before he dies, so he's not giving any coach the time it takes to turn that team around. He only gave Kiffin the job because almost everyone elese he tried to get turned him down. This time it would be even worse because Kiffin's done a good job and the team is better and he's STILL getting fired!

Bill Ford Jr, the man who convinced his father to hire Matt Millen in the first place, now apparently can't talk pops into firing him:
Detroit Lions vice chairman Bill Ford Jr., at a Detroit Economic Club event Monday, had this to say in response to a reporter’s question about the Lions game on Sunday:
“It was an embarrassment, the fans deserve better, and if I had the authority, I would have fired the general manager,” Matt Millen, Ford said.
When asked again a few minutes later if he would fire Millen, he said, “Yes, but I don’t have that authority.”
