Buckcherry: Black Butterfly

They have a new album called Black Butterfly coming out this Tuesday. I was completely unaware of this until I looked in the Sunday ads today. I haven't heard any singles from it yet either, which is why it caught me by surprise.

So are there any reviews of this? I'm not sure if I should pick it up immediately or wait. The sale is $9.99 at most stores and will probably go up next week.

Buy it. I am buying it blind as well. They haven't done a bad album yet and I am not worried. It likely won't dip below $10 bucks for a while.

Great song! The only one I've heard at this point.

Looking around I just found two more songs off the album. Both sound pretty good.

I wasn't a huge fan of their last album (Fifteen) or the first single on the new album. However, I am a loyal fan and will still pick it up.

Too Drunk is just okay to me, but I love Rescue Me. I wasn't sure what I thought about the album on my first go-through but it grows on me each time I listen to it. I'm not sure if any of the songs will have the same crossover appeal as Crazy Bitch/Sorry did, though.

Anyone know if the album is available in a jewel case or is the cardboard package the only option?

It's the cardboard digipak only for both the regular and fan-club (has 2 extra tracks, both demos: Nothing and Stayin' High) editions. The fan club edition has red artist/album title lettering and the regular edition has yellow, I believe.
BTW, I am lovin' this album...alot! Best album since their 1st.

Josh Todd's solo record isn't that bad either.

Re: Buckcherry: Black Butterfly

Just heard on Eddie Trunk's SIRIUS-XM show that the lead track, "Too Drunk," was replaced on the re-issue of Black Butterfly. The new track taking its place is a cover of Deep Purple's "Highway Star."

I saw this as well. What a strange choice. I can understand adding a bonus track to boost sales, but why excise an existing track? Especially one that was the leadoff single, the highest charting track from the album, and a staple of many live shows. The original album clocked in under 45 minutes, so it's not a space issue.

A good point. 'Too Drunk' sounds pretty goofy in its edited form and it's the only one on the CD I remember as being excessively profane.

Re: Buckcherry: Black Butterfly

Thanks for the heads up on the live album.

By the way, Buckcherry is joining the KISS Alive 35 tour in November.
